11th hour...

Tracy and I have been actively looking for a place to move to for the past month, since the lease on the apt. we are living in now is up on Sept. 30th, so we put in our 30 day notice. Well, we have found at least 5 places that we liked enough to put in applications in on, only to not get the place for one reason or another.

: Trust me when I say that the "competition" for reasonably priced rentals that allows pets is TOUGH!! So, here I sit on Sept. 29th, with new applications out on 2 different places...and NO PLACE to move to..and we HAVE to move this weekend (out by Sunday)!!! :new_shocked: :new_shocked: We HOPE that one of these places works out...because as a last resort, we will move into another apt in this same complex on a month-to-month deal...and pay WAYYY too much rent doing it that way and then having to move AGAIN when we do find a place....I am STRESSED out!!!!!!!!!!

We also do not have enough people to help move us...mostly because we've been hesitant in asking since we dont have an actual move out schedule worked out...what a mess!!!

I wish we had a spare room to offer -- you and Tracy would be absolutely welcome, but two people, 4 dogs and 3 cats in a single-side trailer is not a pretty sight as it is...

This will sound ridiculous, but if you have a tent or camper, you're more than welcome to camp here...

Also, we have one day free this weekend, although I need to check to see which -- we're going to a wedding of an old friend of Keith's, but I'm not sure if it's Saturday or Sunday (how's THAT for organized??!!)

I wish I could be of more help and offer more than such paltry help!

Dear Linda,

Since you can move into a different apartment on a month to month, why don't you talk to the apartment manager and see if you can't stay in the same one on a month to month. It should work out for them also as they wouldn't need to get someone in to clean/re-paint the place your in and then do it again when you move out of the other one.

I doubt they have rented the one you are in, if there are others available.

Actually, yes, they have already rented out the apt. we are living in and the new tenants want to move in by the 8th. We live in a complex that has many different floor plans in 1-3 bedrooms and we also live on the ground level, which is "premium", so they rent FAST!

Update: I "think" we found a place, so PLEASE cross your fingers for us, that it works out!! We find out today...and if we get it, we will be starting to move tonight!!!

Yay!!! We have a place!!! We get the keys tonight and will be moving all weekend!!! Whew!!! (Seriously, I was beginning to wonder since no one called and it was almost 5 PM!!)

Now, I'm on hold and calling utilities and setting up a U Haul, etc...talk about franticly doing all these things before they close for the weekend!! Sheesh!!

My brother and my mom even called me today wondering if we had found a place...LOL!!

What we got...a 3 BR 1 Bath ranch style house with a huge back yard (we have 2 dogs and a cat) in North Portland (St. Johns area, for those of you who know Portland). I am sooo excited!! Yay!!! :aktion033: :bgrin

Thanks for all your offers (if you could) to help...we had to turn Susanne down, tho...and I am sure she was relieved...LOL! We worked our butts off on Saturday, with a 17' U-Haul and from 2-6 people, depending and got almost completely moved. Had a few odds and ends left and Tracy and I did that and the cleaning on Sunday! Ohhhh.....I can't move today...my body hates me right now! Hahaha!

I am soooo happy and relieved that it is all done!!!!! Yay!!!
