Hello Everyone!

Josh and I had my 36 week appointment on Friday. Everything went well. They swabbed me for Strep. And the heartbeat was good. I am measuring out good which is nice. Well the doctor tried telling me she wasn't breeched anymore and I kept telling him she was still breeched. So finally he did a ultrasound and sure enough I was right

HAHA Well he was like I would like to have a version done on you so that way you can have a natural birth. Ugghhhh screw that I heard it was way too painful and I mentioned to him how everyone in my family had c-sections so I am not shocked that I need one too. He was like well I will have the head of the OB ward contact you and he will discuss some options with you. And not to mention he gave me a BC packet and sent me off to the lab. I got my blood drawn and then I was good to go. So everything went well. Well Saturday at 8am I got a call from the OB Ward director and he mentioned he wanted to do the Version next Sunday after he returns from leave. I told him that I wasn't really interested having it done. And he was like you are the mother so you get to decide. I told him I would like to go ahead and elect to have a c-section. So he was like ok we can do that. Then shortly after he was like how about October 18th, so thats the date lil Lexi will enter the world.

On the 9th I go in to talk to the doctor who will deliver and they will discuss everything that day and then yay she will be here....

I go in this Thursday for my 37 week appointment for more measurements and what not. Tomorrow night however is my baby shower. Its really late but I don't have many friends up here. So I am just happy to even have one at all. I have been having some issues with my blood pressure..I have passed out 2 times recently and hit my head in the hallway. Nothing serious though. Thank goodness. I just have been instructed to take it easy until the 18th. Thank the lord. I know I haven't been doing to much. Just cleaning and things of that nature. Josh and I got the crib together on Sunday

PLease don't elect for a section. Do your research, and I have had 1 aversion and 1 C section. The aversion and a V-bac was AFTER the section. They really didn't think I would make it and do it but we had a healthy baby boy. The section WAS HORRIBLE and the pain and recovery and scar tissue a mess. Do what your body can let you do naturally without harming you or the baby. Maybe try more info on the aversion if done with guieded U/S and a good OBGYN its doable. Granted it could end up being a section, but a chance you good deliver naturally. You look so happy! Have a great birth whichever way the baby comes out.

We ended up talking briefly about the aversion but I have a friend who works at a high risk pregnancy clinic who explained to me the whole aversion process 10 times better than what my doctors did. And she explained to me all the risks and even had a doctor that she works with verify everything, so that way I knew what I was hearing was true and not bologna. Not that my friend would lie to me. There's a risk of damaging the placenta that way and that cares me because we are still at risk for downs syndrome. Still haven't come out of the dark and the blood pressure issue makes deliverying normally a challenge for me also. We can't choose to see someone else as far as Doctors go, so I am stuck with the idiot I have. And there's no way I want him to try the aversion at all. Also another issue that we are facing is the fact that she's a big baby and we are at the point where the aversion can't be done from what I was told and 37 weeks is the cut off. I don't think there's anyway I could naturally give birth to this baby being with the issues and the fact that she is huge now. We looked at all the factors that are coming into play and we just think its best and safer this way. Not to mention this is our one and only child so I am not concerned about the scar tissue and I won't be returning to work anytime soon.

Edited to add- Thanks Karla! I know I am getting excited....

You look great! There is still time for the baby to flip. I had both my kids naturally, no meds, not even asprin. I recovered sooooooooo quick and never regret my choice. I have never had a c-section, but know people who have and have assisted (when I worked in the OR)in doing some and will only say to research it and talk to some people who had one. The choice is yours and as long as you and baby are happy and healthy that is what is important. Good luck, can not wait to for the birth announcement and baby photos.

You look adorable!!! I cant wait to see pics of the baby when its born

YOu are just as cute as can be!! I Must admit I am always a bit jealous when I see pregnant women.. I just miss that for lack of a better term private time where I could feel the baby move and well they were just sort of really all mine not sure if that makes sense but really even after they were born while I didnt miss being huge and uncomfortable I did miss having a baby in my belly.

Ok that is totally off subject I had a c-section with my first 18 years ago and then with raven 10 years ago had an elective c-section honestly I think I would do it the same way again.

I will admit I healed better the first time however I was younger and in shape and I think your body sort of has a chance to prepare for the surgery since it is already in alert mode (dont know another term) during labor.

with raven the recovery was a bit longer and I was a bit more sore but again I was older, not in as good of shape, had one kid, a buisness to run, horses , dogs ect.. just alot more going on that had to get done in a day then with just me and my daughter the first time.

But really the extra few days in the hospital really helped me as a first time mom I was scard to death and had no experience with babies the nurses really helped me and i was very comfortable to go home with her I would have not been so comfortable within 24 hours.

The scar isnt to bad and really I am fat now so hard to see anyway

: I give lots of credit to women who have natural childbirth honestly... and sounds immature for a grown MOM to say this but trust me.. given the chance with tears and stitches there and all... still creeps me out give me a c-section any time LOL

enjoy your next couple of weeks sleep alot, and try to not count the seconds till she is here it will only make the time go slower!

Just a thought, my second daughter was breech and my mid wife had me lay upside down on a board inclined for like 10 -15 min a few times a day, it worked and my daughter flipped.

:new_shocked: Wow barnbum! I thought my last girl was big at 10lb 3oz! She was my limit for sure, we did natural too, no drugs at all and I was induced! Crazy!!!!

You aren't too far behind me! We've been pretty lucky as Ryder has been "in position" since about 34 weeks. When we were going through all those tests for preclampsia toxemia I was scared to death about possibly having a c-section. Although, I've never really had major surgery before. I think that's the part that scares me. Are you getting excited? I'm to the point that I wake up everyday going "oh not another day of being pregnant." Good luck with your little girl can't wait to see pictures of her!

Which ever way you choose to have your babyit surely will be a beautiful and healthy. KLnow you will be so relieved to have it all over with. Mary

I just wanted to say you look great! I just had my baby at 35 weeks recently, and he spent time in NICU. Congrats on making it this far!!!

Oh, and just to brag a bit, I was in my pre-pregers clothes in 2 days, I looked just like you.
