Kay, can you please keep us updated on this subject, both of them? There is nothing on the news here except the storms. thank YouThis isnt far from me and I just couldnt believe someone would do that. Been all over the news here. They are also reporting on another ohio horse farm starving horses that is supposed to be on the news tonight. My heart breaks for this couple as they were so devastated when they interviewed them.
Here is something to think about, In 2008 I had my right knee rplaced, during that time, my daughter and her husband were staying in the guest room so she could assist me, the guy from the cattle farm accross the road was sleeping on the couch so he could help hubby take care of horses. I had only been home from the hosp. for one day still using my walker, and sleeping on a day bed in the family room. It was the middle of Jan., I awoke to the dogs barking, I went to the door as the barn sensor light came on, there was a strange man standing at the gate with a torn t shirt and blood on his chest. My first thought was that he had been in an auto accident. I foolishly opened the door at which time my beloved dogs ran out, when they were quite enough I asked if he needed assistance and should I call for an ambulance, and did others need help, He was staggering and I couldn't understand him so I thought he was hurt. Well, no, he was drunk and a crazy, What I finally got out of him was, my girlfriend threw me out of the car call the police, I'm going to shoot your dogs. At which point, I started screaming for all in the house to get up, there was a crazy man in the driveway, and I called 911. He wouldn't leave until the police took him away and he even threatened my husband and son-in-law. What I learned-- If he had a gun he could have shot my beloved dogs or my husband, I'll never again be concerned and open the door to a stranger, I'll call 911 first and let the police handle it.Ugh. Gotta love people and their ignorance sometimes. Things like this make me nervous to have horses in a way. I guess that's what good fences and guard dogs are for (then again if they're willing to kill horses I'm sure harming a dog wouldn't have been a problem either). Makes me sick to my stomach. The poor owner
