The roads have been iced over so I couldn't get to town to shop for anything. When in doubt, check the tack room! The Hus is sick with a stomach bug and just so happens I've got all kinds of Pepto Bismal and Tagament and even Benedryl in the tack room. And there's my Tylenol in my grooming box for me.

Lucky me also has shampoo and conditioner out there by the gallons for the shower tonite, and irish spring soap too, which I used to rub on the wood for that naughty horse who was chewing her door.

Lucky Dan too! Just so happens I've got every kind of hair gel and mousse in the cabinet so he can feel luxiourious.

Vasoline for chapped lips, paper towels, candy bars, Gatorade, 50 lbs of steam rolled oats I could make cookies or oatmeal out of them if I had to, and last but not least, toilet paper!

Yup, nothing like a well stocked tack room!

I know I've headed to the barn more than once to check supplies if I can't find something in the house that I need. Recently, I went and robbed my stash of Ranitidine and brought a bottle back to the house for my use.

And other times of the year too....

We had visitors last summer with a small child that needed a diaper change. The parents were absolutely shocked to learn that we (childless and old enough for grand-kids), had diapers in our tack room. Feminine supplies too..... And of course baby wipes, baby powder, and baby oil gel for the diaper change.

I have stash in three places...5th wheel trailer in the bathroom-tack room and the doggy supplies on the back porch. I told hubby we got enough for a couple of months. He is always worried we do not have enough TP

First thing I learned when we moved up here to where it can really dump SNOW on you was to be sure I kept both horse AND house supplies up-to-date. I make SURE there is always a good supply of hay, 'grain' ( I feed concentrates, not grain per se), basic vet supplies, including ranitidine, dog food, cheap cat litter(good for icy sidewalks and doorway pads, won't damage the concrete, so can be just swept off onto the yard) and finally, people food and other necessities.

Too FUNNY.......But TRUE! Our bathroom and the Horsey Med Cabinet have a lot of "cross-over" stuff too!
