I am leasing my stallion until new owners pay in full, Do I sign over his registation papers???

or just sign the lease papers????and send in ( I forgot to call today and ask AMHA/AMHR).

Thanks alot.

Thanks.

That would have been my guess....I wouldn t want to sign over the registration papers, signed...until paid in full.

Have a great weekend.

I contacted AMHA today about this same issue and this is what I was told....

This was the right place to ask ;o)) There is a lease form on our website under Forms on Line. You set the beginning and end date; the original certificate must be sent in with the lease - the lessee's name will be put on it in the transfer area - with the ending lease date printed on it. That certificate will be sent back to YOU - and it is your responsibility to get a copy of it to your lessee (you do not want to turn loose of your original certificate); they are then the "owner" of the stallion for that lease period. She will sign the Stallion report and issue any Stallion Service Certificates. She can show him just as if she owned him. When the lease period is up - or if you terminate it sooner - you must file a "end of lease" form (even though it states it on the certificate, the form is still necessary) and return that with the original certificate for the certificate to be put back into your name and the lessee taken off.
Hope this helps!

Mulligans Run, that is how AMHR does it, not AMHA. AMHA doesn't require that any registration papers be sent in. They only need the lease paper.

Whoops - my mistake! I sent the email to both of them as I'm considering sending a stallion off on lease. I must have grabbed the wrong response. Thanks for clarifying that!
