My pictures were accepted. The registry told me they were great.

My pictures were accepted as well, even when I sent my first ones in as 2"x3" and later found out they want no smaller than 3"x5" or something like that...they still even accepted my tiny photo's lol! I have been very impressed with AMHR's new registration and their turn around time has been impressive!

Mine were accepted but I retook them after reading about the problems on here. I also called AMHR & mentioned the inconsistencies that we were hearing about. The lady told me to include a note to call us if there was a problem instead of just sending the pictures back to us.

I have done both, been rejected and accepted.

However, my main complaint with AMHR is not the pics. I don't mind re-doing pics. I have submitted several horses to AMHR this spring and have been rejected for no stallion report on file (It was there and when I called I was told they were swamped and they did not have time to look it up - thank goodness I had a copy- I sent it in December 2006 and this was MARCH 2007). This was a long distance phone charge for me-not to mention my time which is evidently worthless to them, because the person you need to speak with is never there- they have to call you back. So you sit by the phone because if you miss the call, you know it is telephone tag for a couple of days.....

Then, I sent in papers to have temp to perm - they took my pictures but totally screwed up the breeders on the perm papers- Again, I had to call them, nobody could help me, then finally send them back because they had no idea how that got so screwed up.

I have a whole stack of AMHA registered colts from this year that I am getting ready to send in for AMHR papers. My husband says "throw them in the trash- it will only be mistake after mistake for you to straighten out again and it is NOT worth it" and I am beginning to believe he is correct.

Can you tell I am a bit tired of all their "excuses" there??????? They want "perfect" pics but they certainly are not giving me back "perfect" registry papers to say the least. GRrrrrrr

Boy I am really out of touch.

So AMHR are doing photos on their Registry papers? I have the older one with no Photos.

What does it cost to send it in to get photos on them?

Well I send 3 horses papers in..2 registrations and One temp to perm..allll came back to me..used the same pics for AMHA and they where just dandy.. I redid all and mail them off today..

I am glad I am not the only one who has to redo..

No problem with our photos (so far).

But we did have an issue with a stallion report on one AND a written description on another.

The stallion report issue was because they had neglected to enter it in the computer.

The description was about whether or not the horse had 4 white stockings or 3 white stockings and an all white leg. (The horse had color coming down a little on each leg, so I called them high stockings.)

In the end I told them to put down whatever they wanted.

I believe your papers are still good..just any registry work that will be done..like transfer, perm them..or newly register..they will need the pictures..

Not sure how to vote on this one....

Case 1: Pictures and transfer sent in. Two months pass before I'm told one of the pictures was not acceptable. Redo picture and send back. Another month passes and then am told a different picture is not acceptable :new_let_it_all_out: Another picture submitted, and am still waiting...

Case 2: Pictures and transfer sent in. Everything accepted, and I had the papers back in 4 weeks. :bgrin

I would say call on case#1. The oddest thing...Everytime I get fed up with waiting and call, darned if it was just not mailed out YESTERDAY.... Now maybe that can happen once, but every time???? Come on. So basically if you want your papers, you have to call, at least in my experience.

Sooooo I sent in two horses' papers... One was a registration of my ASPC mare to get ASPR papers. The other was to put a Foundation seal on my ASPC/AMHR stallion. I had sent all the paperwork, just no pictures.

Well they called from the Registration office and said... "Your papers are here on my desk but no pictures. Please just send the pictures so I don't have to send everything back to you."

So I took pictures and sent them.

I got my papers for both horses back last month... but lo and behold... they are the OLD style papers with no photos???!!!

The ASPR papers are the regular brown ones. The ASPC papers are blue, and had the Foundation seal on it.

Weird huh?????? Anyone else get the old style papers? I really was looking forward to having new fancy papers for my ponies.

I am getting a new ASPC/AMHR mare this week and hope the transfer will go okay. This is a new thing with AMHR so I expect there to be flubs. They have a lot of new people in the offices that I haven't talked to before.

There will be a learning curve, please be patient. I imagine it's a lot of work and it's easy to miss details.

I personally can't wait for the ability to e-mail digital pictures... has to be easier on both ends...

Andrea

Shari...

You do not NEED to send your "old style" papers in to have photos put on. Only if you ever need to send the papers in for any work. To "just do it" it is $15. Otherwise wait until you have a reason to send your papers in with a fee for something else, they will then add the pictures as routine.
