If you have a horse registered in the A division, but they measure at the show in the B division, what happens?

I'm no expert but at least at the local shows, I know, if your A measures B (and you have 2 or 3 chances to remeasure) then you just show him in the B classes.

Does it make a difference if the horse is permanently registered in the A division?

I have never had it happen but I would think it would go as follows

Say you have a 34" perm registered AMHR horse, take it to a show, measures 34.5" (all three times) - (taking it this would be this horses first show as a 3yr past horse) it would then have that measurement sent to the office and receive a permanent card back in the mail (as any 3yr past horse would)

Then you could either send the papers back to have the height changed, or next time you sent the papers in, say for transfer ext that "permanent" card height that the office printed and sent to you, that height would be put on this horses papers.

A few years back I bought a horse who's papers said she was 33.5. When I sent in the transfer papers I put on it that she was 36 inches. (this was the first time I had different information than what was on the form, so I was not clear on what all I had to do.)

It came back with the 33.5 on it and in my name.

When I called in about it, I was told because I did not mark a change on the paperwork and pay the $10 to update the form is why they did not change it.

I asked " why do you ask for the height on the transfer paperwork if you are not going to do anything with the information". they said that is the way they do it.

I had also asked this person if I would be able to show my mare with the paperwork having the wrong division on it. She said I probably would not be able to show so I did not show her until I got the paperwork updated. I guess I did not have the right person on the phone.

I asked why they did not call me since I had my phone number if there was a problem. No response to that one.

So I found out it was easier to come on here and ask questions than call them.

There are a lot of helpful people on the Forum. :aktion033:
