The trip to Chattanooga was uneventful. I did my usual old lady 45 in the fast lane and nobody shot me a bird for it this time. There wasn't hardly any traffic headed south so that's probably why. We got to the pet party sponsored by this very large vet hospital and Amy in her costume was a hit. They were taking pictures of every dog there, about 80-100 or so and said they were going to go over them and judge them next week. I didn't know it was a contest. I'm so pround of my dog. She was amazingly well behaved and sat inbetween two other german shepherds nicely who were also well trained and near this gigantic mastiff who had his designs on her. She didn't care much for the real tiny dogs who thought it would be fun to growl and snarl and try to pick a fight with her. I finally had to ask the owner to take them out of her face before something happened. She's a non-violent dog but gee whiz these little guys were asking for trouble.
There were agility demonstrations and lectures on health care which was really nice and a class on basic training commands. There was also an organization there adopting the cutest dogs.
I'm sure we aren't getting a prize for our home made outfit. We certainly couldn't compete with those little puffy poodles dressed up like butterflies and angels, and some of those costumes were fabulous, but she won one of the door prize with a free toe nail clipping and a bath at their day spa in the adjoining building. She was getting really hot in that stable blanket so I couldn't wait to get it off of her so we took full advantage of it and got all beautiful but then she copped an attitude when the gal was trying to do her nails she had a little tantrum over it. Then she got two free hot dogs and a bag of treats just for showing up and I got a free ice cream cone.
Next was Tractor Supply for feed and there she got a bag of Beef Jerky and dog biscuits. On the way home we did Burger King where I got a whopper and she got a whopper, hold the lettuce and mater.
After we both got stuffed, she slept all the way back home like a baby. She was so exhausted I didn't have the heart to wake her up and make her get all dressed up again and go Trick or Treating in town so we went on home. I was ready for a nap too.
After barn chores we got some scary movies on, Hus ordered the pizza and Amy helped me out with the Trick or Treater tonite while Devin slept during the whole thing. We counted, and this year we had 37 kids.
It was a great time spending the day with my dog, just me and her. And I promised her I'll never make her wear a hat again.
Hope you all had a good Halloween also.
Today I'll be taking down all the fall/harvest/Halloween decorations and by Monday, the Thanksgiving ones will be up in the house.
