First off I want to say that Marty is one of the most awesome, caring, respected, wunnermous people EVER :aktion033: :aktion033:

: She is the most understanding, compassionate truely concerned people I have ever had the honor to speak with. Thank you so very much, Marty for being you.

My back was hurt years ago when my full sized mare kicked me in the ribs. She twisted and jerked my lower spine. It flares up about once or twice a year and normally they put me on hydrocodone till it passes. But this time it's worse than before.

They have hit me harder with an extreemely high dose of hydrocodone, combined with muscle relaxers and a newly added cortizone pack... some sort of pill regimine that is supposed to be like a cortizone shot.

Last week they did another MRI to check my spine, and I have several bulging disks on the verge of rupture and they are sending me to a neurosurgeon to discuss back surgery!

The medication keeps me very disoriented and "bobble headed"

: and I have been ordered to stay laying flat on my back as much as possible. Hm... 5 kids, animals, husband, computer work,... yeah... like I can possibly do that. Well I tried to force my way around and do what I wanted to anyway and ended up hurting myself even worse than I already was and I definately learned to like that flat on my back idea. I am SO blessed to have a fantastic husband who doesn't mind laundry, cooking, taking care of the kids and animals, and taking care of me

My sister in law had been staying here to help me (I think more to babysit me and make sure I stayed laying down  ) but she's not here today so I was able to sneak onto the computer for a few minutes lol....

I am so sorry ya'll are having to wait on your logos and other things... I am going to do my very best to focus on getting better and come back full force to get those done for you. I really miss getting on here and reading the forum, especially right now during the beginning of foaling season!

I'll get better, and be right back up and going soon... if anyone has any lower back pain relief ideas that work... please please let me know what they are!

Kim, honey, you take it easy. As one who knows bad discs they are nothing to mess with. Take it easy and do as you're told. Work and life will wait until you mend. Take care. :saludando:

Kim I'm embarrassed, you'd do the same for me so just quit that now. Just give me a call anytime.

Kim maybe it would help you to get massages sometimes?

Back problems is one think that I just haven't had but many here do have back pain so hopefully they will come on and try to come up with something useful to say. Meanwhile, just keep hanging in there. It will all get better eventually, just right now it's hard but you can get through this and over come it all I promise you.

Kim, its great hearing from you, and you just remember its YOU we care about. You need to get yourself well. I had a horse flip on me and have back problems too, its no picnic, when it starts to act up. So listen to your doctors and stay in bed FLAT. The compueter work will all be there when you are able to do it. Please know we're all praying for you and keeping you in our thoughts. Corinne

You need to put your needs on the top of your priority list. As much as you feel obligated to family relatives and friends if you permanently injure your back you will be worse off than just taking it easy for a few weeks or months. Everybody will wait patiently for you to heal. Hope you mend well.

Add my best wishes to the pile of those heaping up for you.

Please know you are far more important than any amount of work you owe someone, or money, etc. I know that's hard to think of, being the kind of person you are, but YOU need to get better before you worry about anything else (much)!

Kim

I am so sorry to hear about your back, I do understand back problems, not with me, but my

older brother Randy. He was in a car wreck, years ago. He broke his back in 5 places. He has

had so many surgeries over the years, and is facing another one this year. So I do understand

please take care of your self and follow the doctors orders. I know those wanting and waiting

for your logo's will wait.

Prayers and Hugs

Vicky

Thoughts are with you Kim........Take it easy.

Please do what the doctor says, the more you're up and running around the worse it will get.

I have a terrible back. Birth defect that wasn't found until I was 22 so had that fused. Was hit and dragged by a car in '99 that messed up my upper back and right arm and ruptered a cervical disc. And then I broke it when I was thrown from my horse in '04.

Try a heating pad, I've found that it loosens the muscle and lessens the pressure on the disc. Doc said to alternate with cold pack, but the warmth was better.

Do as your told, you have a great family to help you.

Glod Bless and hope you feel better soon.

Lee

Prayers coming your way Kim.

My SIL had back surgery last Oct and she's doing great. No more pain and she can walk now for 1 hour straight on the treadmill. I know if I were told I had to lay flat on my back I'd go crazy(er?). I can't even sleep on my back. :new_shocked:

I'll definitely keep you in our prayers and thoughts, Kim. Back injuries are awful and yours sounds serious - please take care of yourself for your own sake and your family's.

All the best coming your way for a way great recovery! My boyfriend also has serious back issues so I know what you are going through...

Take it VERY easy and do whatever it takes to get better!
