We lost our Golden Retriever a couple of weeks ago to a rare lung infection. It was totally unexpected and the sad thing is that he was only four years old. We had gotten Bo at the same time that our son was born so that they could grow up together and be best buddies. He was also my husband's duck dog. He was such a sweet and happy dog.

Here is his tribute video I made for him if you would like to watch.

But I also wanted to show off my painting that Kim did for us. She could not have done a better job of capturing who Bo really was to us. At the bottom is the main picture that she used but had a couple of others as well. I hope she will post if she has a better shot of the painting than mine. Thank you Kim!

:aktion033: Wow would that I could create such wonderful beauty and spirit. Also imagine, to be able to create such wonderful memories for someone to have forever and ever of their special friend. What a tremendous amount of work that must be,you can tell its done with love and respect.

That is a wonderful talent to have. I salute you!

Thank you all so much!!!

When Shannon asked me to do Bo, I almost declined because I had never painted a dog, and it was scary to me when you have never met the animal...

But I tell you, there is nothing like that feeling when someone tells you that you painted 'their" pet correctly. I have been having so much fun doing these. :aktion033:

Thank you all again!

You have a talent equal to or more than those of us who can empathize with our animal friends. Your ability to capture the essence of each one is uncanny and always accurate. I applaud you and your gift! :aktion033:

Shannon...the painting is priceless...what an awesome memorial

Teri, funny you should say that. Hall (my four year old) the first thing he did when I showed him was lean up and kiss Bo on the nose. I almost lost it! Then I just kissed him too and felt a little better.

: Bo might of been with you for only a short time, but our animals just touch our hearts and that last an eternity. Kim does an outstanding job with her beautiful paintings. (((HUGS))) to Hall. Corinne

OMG Shannon,,,,

That is so sweet, you just about made me cry,,,, poor little boy.

And Bonnie, I could never do something as important as what you and Debbie and others do with helping communicate with our beloved animals.

Thank you everyone else, you guys make me feel so good.

But Kim, you do...look at the emotion and the comfort you give to those you create for. No less important in my humble opinion. I look at my portrait of Treasure each day, several times a day and I can talk to her, and miss her and love her still, yet see her with my eyes as well as my heart thanks to you and your talented gift.
