How does the marestare and foal cams work? how much does it cost? and how do you install it? I've read some on it but can't find out how much.

Your best bet would be to contact either of the companies - they will be able to give you exact quotes and help on getting setup.

WeFoal contacts

Here is some information that you may find useful:

You will need a cam that can hook up to your computer through a video capture card

You will need software on your computer (available from MareStare or WeFoal) that will feed the video from the video capture card up to the internet (MareStare or WeFoal Server).

This is the basics - what you will need to get started. The folks at MareStare or WeFoal will help you get everything working properly - they are great!!!!

This is a tool that is invaluable during foaling season - I can't imagine not having something like this available. It is amazing how many people watch these mares - and many many times this has saved lives!!!! I highly recommend having your horses viewed over the internet - it is the best!!!!

I personally use MareStare - Heather and Rich are great folks to work with - and the service is wonderful. I believe Tom and Michele at WeFoal are great too.

Do you have to have hi speed or can you use dial up with it?

I had mine on dial up since 2006, had high speed before I moved up here, and now i finially have DSL up here in no mans land.

But to get back to dial up, yes you can run your cams just fine on dial up.

I ran mine and watched cams on my dial up. so you should have no problem.
