It all started with me wanting to lighten the load for my driving boy. After deciding to get a lighter cart, I also decided I could lighten my load a bit too. I joined weight watchers plus. I have failed at many diets and failed on the old weightwatchers several times, in fact I hated it. I decided to try the new weight watchers plus program because they offered sessions where I work at lunchtime once a week. I started end of February. I love the program, it is easy to follow and fruits and veggies are FREE now. It is really helping me and I have lost 18.5 lbs so far. whooo hoooo. I hope I can keep up the excitement and keep going, but I had to share, I am so tickled and I am sure my horses will thank me too, between the lighter cart and lighter me. When I joined the support lady laughed at my third reason for losing... I said, I am doing it for me, for my kids and for my horses... LOL. I still have more to lose but I am very happy with this program. My rule is if I can't count it, I don't eat it. works for me, I just had to share.

I am on the Weight watchers plus plan as well - and it is slowly working.I have tried many plans, including the last WW counting system, but this one seems easier and to be working. I have found it much easier to stick too and count - as the free fruits and veg encourage you to eat more of them, which is what we should be doing anyway. My goal is similar to yours - mine is to weigh less than my horse:) The big horse people at our meeting find this hilarious

Good Luck!!

My sister and her husband did the older plan and had exellant results. My sister did "slide off the wagon" foodwise and gained again; but now she is working on the plus plan and she says it is better too. I am using USANA Nutritionals 'Reset' program. We (husband and I) are taking nutritional supplements for good health and certain health areas (him joint and heart). I lost 5 pounds the first week and seem to be doing 1-2/week now. I think with any of the good programs it is the change in lifestyle and eating habits that is the main key. It is hard to change those old habits. Sugar/carb cravings are strong; but what it does to your insulin levels is scary

Yup, you got that right... The writing was on the wall for me being a diabetic later on in life. It is so hard to change old habits. For the first month I had "vision of sugar plums dancing in my head"... LOL. It took time for the sugar cravings I had built to subside. I couldn't stick with the older plan, but the new plan makes sense. They tell you you can eat fruits and veggies for free. They stick high point values on the bad stuff and low points on the good stuff. The cool thing is that they tell you if you really want it, then eat it, but count the points and figure it into the plan rather than deny yourself and then go nuts later when you fall off the wagon by eating something you were dreaming about. It also teaches me about portion control and about not snacking while cooking. so far so good, hanging in there.
