Anyone going through foaling withdrawls?

I have two mares on cam now....Cocoa - a maiden mare I got at a recent sale with a note from the vet that she will foal before the end of the year

: and Nina who always foals at 290 to 300 days. She will be 300 days on 12/31/06.

Cocoa has sticky milk, no bag (maiden mare) and is starting to get uncomfy. Milk is at poor on the refractometer. She's on Cam #3 - CAM #3

Nina lost her foal this year (couldn't get out of the bag - not on cam) - she showed no signs - no bag, no relaxation. Now she has a bag, lots of sticky milk that is testing Good on the refractometer. Bag is not full and tight, but definitely there.

She's on Cam #1 and #2 - CAM #1 and CAM #2

OR you can pull up all four cams if you want to watch life in the heart of our barn - in our alleyway.

I have been going through withdrawal, and we never did get a free weekend to put our camera up - so now we will be doing it in the Spring - oh well, that is the way things go!

COOL! :bgrin I have something to watch while I am watching my mare...

I am on MARE STARE TOO! She foaled at 324 DAYS in 2005 and she is at 319 days right now. Only one accidental cover so the breeding date is right. However we are in WI and I am NOT looking forward to foaling this LATE :no: . but it does appear that she may go beyond 324 days this time because her bag is not quite full yet so maybe a CHRISTMAS FOAL.

The weather here where I am right now is -1 without the windchill and even with the insulated barn it is still in the 20's in the barn so we have made a stall inside our garage just "incase" its needed for more warmth.

: Hopefulyl between foal blankets and heat (if needed) the foal will be okay.

So much for mares being in anesterus(sp)

We have several cams in Canada, The Netherlands and now we have a cam in Australia (Silhouette Park - just foaled this morning) and I'm always amazed when I tune in and realize that it's so far away. I've been iming the owner of the cam in Australia - and we keep each other awake as much as possible.

Thanks for watching! I'll try to keep updates posted so ya'll know how they're progressing.

Thanks for being my fix until mine are ready!!! I am having total withdrawals. I have 5 coming next year and I am so excited about all of them!!! My first two are coming around 1/3 and 1/15 so not too much longer and I will be joining you on marestare, but I am chopping at the bit already so watching yours will really help me. Hubby getting my camaras up this weekend with all the heat lamps that Lowes has to offer

I've done more than I can count in the past few years and by golly, I don't mind not doing any more for the next ten years.

I COULDN'T PULL IT UP.

The first time you try to view the cams it will prompt you to install active x - if you don't tell it yes, then you won't be able to see the cams and it won't ask again. If that's the issue drop me and email and I'll send the link to the software.

If you HAVE downloaded Active X and it's not working, you need to check your security settings. I can walk you through that too.

My horses are pretty lazy and they enjoy laying down ALOT. They'll lay on their side, stretch out...keeps us guessing.
