We would love to see all your appys. Tell us where you got them. Also why you like the ones you got?I was told by someone that founding a great looking appy is hard(is this true)?

My daughter ashley loves those appys(the ones with blue eyes the best)

Hi, I have 2 appys at the moment. One is my mare, Sky who I bought from a lady in Ontario. Other is a leopard appy stallion who I also bought from a lady in Ontario. Pictures can be seen on my website.

Well, here's my only appy- and a spotless one at that

:

This is Darkmoon's Orion's Mighty Dainty. We bought her from a local breeder, and she was bred by another local breeder, Darkmoon Farm. They are listed on LB uder NJ Breeders

We didn't buy her just because she has appy- it was just coincidence.

My one appy mare was bred by Little Wee Horse Farm. I actually got her from another person -- an appy breeder who bred a horse I owned but no longer wished to keep. We did a trade. When it comes to appys, I'm not a huge fan but do love leopards (but with them, "one" is enough for my eyes -- I like them partly because they are a little unusual). Prior to this mare, I owned a silver dapple near leopard mare (sold when I decided to start breeding), and a leopard colt I gelded and raised (and traded for Klassy).

As to finding a great appy, you just have to look and deal with someone reputable. Some will disagree, of course, but there are many breeders who have put colot before conformation when it comes to appys. Many people will say that there is a wider range of quality in appys (really bad all the way up to really good) because some breeders have used colorful breeding stock irrespective of quality. The two appy minis I owned prior to Klassy each had conformational faults that kept me from wanting to breed them. They were both very "pretty", but the faults to me were substantial (a very bad bite in one and unstraight legs and ewe neck in the other).

Well the one I have for my daughter is a 1994 AMHA 25" Now Gelding (was a stallion when we resuced him)

To me he never was Stallion material but is a awesome gelding for my 12 yr.old to show in Halter, Obstacle and Hunter/jumper, & costume class....Though he has "alot" of faults he is a great Gelding....

He is Blue Roan Varnish Appaloosa with Crystal Blue Eyes....Kobeck's Little Coffee Cake AKA Blue by Komokos Chief Running Brave out of Kobeck's Cupcake....

Coventry Lane's Hollywood Diva

MonteNationals07.jpg

Bissle Mounds Monte Carlo

Our 2007 filly "Coventry Lane's Hollywood Diva" is one of our own bred leopard appaloosa filly's from the breeding of our stallion "Bissel Monds Monte Carlo". She is my absolute favorite appy and has refinement with a small dishy head and tiny ears and wonderful conformation and show attitude like her sire. She was the 2007 Champion in Multi-Color Mare Under 34" at the Nationals and was in the Top 10 in her over 28" to 30" halter class.

Diva's sire Monte was the 2007 Reserve National Champion in Multi-Color Stallion Under and finished with having 2 Top 10's in the country pleasure driving stallion and gentlemens classes. He is a real driving machine and has a wonderful disposition.

We have quite a few appaloosa's that are black, buckskin with ice blue eyes and palamino leopards. You can see them on our website. We have two mares bred to Monte for 2008 foals next year that will also be Futurity nominated as well.

Here is my stallion, Hale Farm's Wind Walker. I bought him from Laura Englesman in Ontario,Ca. She has at least 7 generations of her own breeding of Appys.

This is a recent picture of one of our home raised fillies by Wind Walker and out of a solid liver mare. Wish I had a better picture of her..she is a three year old .

This is a 4 yr. old Wind Walker son..also home bred. He is 31" by 37" Windy and out of our 35" silver bay.

And, here is our foal from this year, Blue Diamond Hasani Amun. He is sired by Windy and out of my pintaloosa mare. ...well, technically, he is pintaloosa I think...but not been tested. He will be a "B" size.

These are our minis, we have 2 appies as of right now with more on the way. Kool is special to us because even though he is adnormal now, he is a sweetheart and can careless of what you do to him or with him. He was attacked by 3 dogs(Spring 2006) with his previous owner, and then that fall his false nostrils collapsed in the middle of recovery, and had to have surgery again. Even though he snores 24/7 he is still a sweetie! He is expecting his first foal crop soon. He bred a Palomino Paint and a appy bred mare.

Here's my Appy mare. She doesn't have any spots, but has a lot of varnishing! She will eventually be mostly white. From the time she was born until she turned 3 her feet where all black. Then I came out to feed one morning and her feet where pink striped! Crazy

I had a hard time finding good appys that I could afford when I got into minis too. It took me years to get get my 1st ones. Then when a friend sold off her herd I got to buy a whole group of appys. It was expensive but well worth it. My horses I bought mostly are Lucky four appys or from parents that are from Lucky Four. But they since have sold off most of their apps.

Most, well all of my younger apps I have bred myself and kept. I finally am getting to the point where I have a few appy minis to sell
