Fizz is a very nice yearling coming 2 year old mini horse. She is halter broke and is very gentle. She has been ridden and handles it very well. Current on shots, worming, and feet. I don't have any papers on her, but she is very cute. My kids play with her all the time. My children are 7 and 4. They are the ones who have ridden her.

Some people are so ignorant and just plain stupid. Makes you want to just go slap them.

So Linda do you need another little horsie that isn't registered?

Well in all honesty many people do not realize the difference in a miniature horse, a pony, or just a small horse. If it is smaller than 14 hands they automatically think it is a miniature horse. I agree riding a yearling is not a good idea but my guess is it is not what we consider a miniature horse.

the world is full of stupid people. That is the sad truth.

Just the other day I saw a local ad, someone has a Mini colt for sale--wording of the ad was something to the effect of "too young to be ridden, but kids have been sitting on him" & this particular colt won't be a year old until April.

I have no idea how much "sitting on" this colt these kids have done--I am not going to write & ask-- but IMO weanling/coming yearling shouldn't have any kids sitting on his back at all.

On one occasion I refused to sell a young gelding to someone that intended to use him in a riding lesson program. My gelding was just a year old and if the person had bought him she would have had her kid (a boy too large to be riding any Mini, never mind a YEARLING) start riding him right away so that they could soon put him into their lesson program.

I didn't see that particular ad of course, but I have seen and read similar situations. People can be so ignorant to the point of being unwittingly cruel or dangerous. Some local folks were trying to tell me it was okay that their teenage boys tried to ride their mini (35") because minis are amazingly strong. I explained that minis ARE strong and can PULL a grown man in a CART but NO horse should be asked to carry more than 20 percent of its own weight. I said, so your boys are around 60 lbs each, huh? No.

Maybe you were emailing with a kid. I emailed to ask the height and they said she is 33".... but I look at the pics and she looks small.

I took my driving horse to a company picnic years ago, and took a WEANLING for kids to pet. I was leading the driving horse, giving little kids rides in the cart, and when I turned around some IDIOT had put his 7-8 year old kid ON THE WEANLING! What an IGNORANT A**! I literally ran over to him and took the kid off - none to gently, and said NO, SHE'S NOT FOR RIDING!!

There were some people here that had a big horse filly that was 8 months old and they were riding it. I saw this same horse advertised every day for almost 2 years and finally someone spoke up about that being the same horse that the owner was riding from 8 months old and no one wanted a damaged horse. The people that owned this filly were very offended that someone would talk to them that way about their horse and "It was not damaged" . Well, we all know what riding an 8 month horse will do to it's bones. People do not want to hear that they are wrong and stupid.

99.9% kids and horses dont mix well , someone usually gets hurt , and its usually the horse.

Poor thing , I hope someone releases her from that lifestyle. Its a good thing I am not rich and living in the US with loads of property, I cant imagine how many of these horses I would have.
