I just wanted to post a direct link to the article in AMHA's magazine about preparing your miniature for a farrier. We all know that every horse needs to have their hooves trimmed so I figured that I would post the link because every horse ought to know how to stand with patience for their own sake and the farrier (or you).
I handle my minis' hooves everyday when I clean them out and when I trim them. I require that each of them stands calmly and with no issues. After handling them so much the only issue I have with my herd of seven; is when my coming 3 year old gelding (at 35"+ and 250+lbs) decides to lean his entire body weight on my shoulders....
Enjoy!
