I hope you will include yet another member of my family in your prayers.

My son-in-law, Tom, is a physical therapist and works quite a bit with the elderly. On July 2nd he was bitten by a spider, he is now hospitalized with MRSA, staff infection. We do know it is in his joints, are waiting on bone test results. At this point there is no improvement.

Yes, he is the father of our twins. As strong as my daughter is, this is very difficult for many many reasons.

You guys do wonders, and I am hoping it works yet again for our family.

Thank you so much.

I hope he gets to feeling better soon! Your poor daughter has had more than her share of stress this year. I am sorry!

Carolyn-

Prayers for Tom. Hope to hear of improvement soon. Your daughter has had way too much to cope with this year, actually back to 2009.

Please keep us posted, and yes, prayers from this forum do work.

Many prayers being said for Tom and your daughter. My goodness - if it isn't one thing it's another. My motto is always "and this too shall pass". Bless their hearts. I sure hope he gets well very soon.

Prayers definitely coming his way Carolyn. I hope to see good News soon!

sending prayers and good thoughts. Your family has sure had it rough lately, I'm sorry. Hugs.

Once again prayers are on their way from across the pond. Really hope he will soon recover

Prayers coming your way.

We sure know the seriousness of this as our youngest grandson has been hospitalized twice with MRSA infections. which was also caused by insect bites.

I hope he gets better soon.

Thanks so much all of you. Tom is on IV antibiotics, started him on the 5th different kind this morning. There is one that usually works on MRSA, but it was doing nothing. The bone results were good, but he does have it in his muscles and joints in his arm and shoulder. Doing more tests to decide what type of damage was done, especially to his muscle. He is in a considerable amount of pain, lots of swelling and heat, but seems to be in good spirits and is trying to make fun of it. We are hoping 5 is a good number and he starts to show improvements soon.

Thanks again so much.

Cindy, what did they have your grandson on? Can't remember what they are trying now, but it starts with a V. I know, no help.

Boy, I can't recall what they had him on that first time, (it's been about 4 years ago) They tried a few different antibiotics before they found one that worked for him. I will have to ask my daughter and see if she remembers.

Vancomycin?? That is a very potent (and very good antibiotic)...

Our thoughts are with your family and we hope he starts improving very soon.

Hoping for good results on this newest antibiotic.

DOING BETTER!!! He is still in the hospital, but making wonderful improvement!! Waiting on MRI's and a few other tests to see the extend of damage to the muscle in this upper arm, and his shoulder. He does have some damage, but they do not believe it will be permanent. Just needs some healing time. Hoping to hear, you are going home soon!

Thank you all so much, you have proved to get the job done once again!

YAY! Good news. I am sure he has suffered, that stuff is so scary.

Tell him that is a LONNNNGGGG way to go to get out of double diaper duty!

Great news!!!! And I agree with Crabby-Chicken - what a way to get out of double diaper duty!!!! Bet he'll be glad to get home to it!!!!
