He got his first worming over the weekend, and the vet came yesterday to check him out and give him his first shots. He checked out just fine. He was even fine about picking his feet up. He will be gelded in about three weeks, as soon as I can get things arranged for him to be sequestered into a clean and dry area post-surgery. We have ordered a 12' x 20' carport roof to put into the pasture to help us get up a more permanent structure quickly in the rescue boys' pasture. It has a frame and an aluminum roof, we will put gravel down with rubber mats on top for the flooring. In Washington, we have very mild albeit wet winters here. It will be enough.
Whomever ends up with little Babbit as a permanent home is a lucky person. He is funny, personable, has fabulous movement, and will be really pretty as soon as his condition improves. I can hardly wait to shave off that head, he has some nice structure under all that hair! What a wonderful driving partner/CDE prospect for someone.
