My family is planning a baby shower for me, and asked me to put together a baby registry. I already got a crib, dresser, and changing table. I have the basic obvious stuff on the registry like a bedding set, stroller, etc. but Im not sure what else to put on there. This is the first baby I will ever have had to care for, and I just dont know what I need. Im the youngest in my family, and ive never even held a baby. I am starting classes soon, so im prepared when the little one comes.

What do I need in the beginning clothes wise? Im having a boy, and due in June.

Are there accessories that I cant live without? I plan on breast feeding if that changes anything. I know I'll still need some bottles for when I cant be with the baby (work etc) but how many should I register for? What about all those mattress protectors and stuff? How many of certain important items do I need?

As you can see, im really clueless. Heck, I still dont know the difference between onesies and undershirts, layettes and "one piece pajamas" and sleepers and gowns.

I just want to make sure that I have the affordable items on the shower list, as I dont expect my friends and family to purchase items over $50, its my baby, and that type of stuff is my responsibility.

I asked for everyday items such as shampoo lotion diapers and wipes, I liked the unscented walmart brand. My son is turning 4 this month and just ran out of shampoo

. Onsies are the one piece that snaps at the bottom . I really liked the gowns, made it easier than trying to do snaps half asleep. Wish you the best

You can never go wrong with too many diapers!!!!!!!! The newborns are good but I would not get a lot of them as HE will grow so fast.... I found out that the walmart brand of wipes are the best.

Do you have a breast pump yet if not i would put that on the registry... diaper bag bigger the better... draft washing powder.. you and the hubby will need to get this. something for him to wear home from the hospital or allow the 2 grandmothers to do this. that is what i did and it work out great they dont feel left out. is this their first grandchild? b/c if so they will get a lot of stuff. my mother in law got the crib my mom got the changing table to go with the crib.

have you got a play pin yet they work great doing the day when you come home from the hospital as your little one can be in the same room with you. a bath tub or a bouncer

hope this helps out

the most of all take a bunch of pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can i give u a pointer with out you getting mad

please dont allow you him to sleep with you and the hubby we done that. my son will be 6 on the 18 and we are just know gettting him to sleep in his own bed!!!!!!!!!!!

good luck and keep us posted

The two money savieng tips I have are: get a car seat you can use a long time(mine goes up to 40 pounds), and get a crib that can eventually turn into a toddler bed.

Go through the isles and get anything and everything you like or think you might use.

Be advised if you breast feed you need to wait awhile to introduce the bottle so not to confuse them. HOwever my daughter had both since day one and did fine. I recommend breast flow bottles which you can find at babies r us, they are the closest to a breast.

We bought a box of diapers every time we went shoping and had enough to last 7 months.

-shampoo

-wipes

-diapers(we like lovs the best)

-dresser

-bouncer

-walker

-bottles

-milk storage bags

-diaper rash cream

-breast pump

-onezies

-sleepers

-car seat cover for winter

- matress and changing table covers

I would avoid the bed sets with the bumper pads as they actually pose a ris kto suffication

-wash clothes

-blankets

-baby lotion

- baby first aid kit

-nuks

-toys

-bath tub

-swing

-bouncer

-high chair

-diaper bag

-baby tylonal

-socks

-clothes

We are always missing socks and onezies(they poop through them a lot)

We like like huggies sensitive wipes and lovs diapers. Our daughter is very sensitive to formula so had to have the soy. We are trying to slowly adjust her to normal milk and so far she is showing sensitivity to that as well.

My brother and sister-in-law gave me a kit that included: Tylenol for infants, Baby Oragel, Walmart brand baby gas medicine, baby shampoo, baby lotion and diapers. I used it ALL.

I also found I needed a little tub for washing my son, which I used until he was about one.
