If the fruit is a pitted fruit it coud be a wild cherry tree. If it is it could be bad. When the leaves fall off and start to wilt the arsnic content goes up. This can kill a horse depending on how many they eat.
Some horse also will eat the little cherries. Too many of the pit in the stomach at once can cause problems.
Well blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries all grow pretty low to the ground. They are more bushes then trees. So I doubt its any of thoughs. But Im not much help, am I?
I have only seen one once and all I can remember is that they looked a lot like blackberries or boysonberries growing like a tree. IF that is what you have all I can say is that the FRUIT didn't hurt me.
Do a search online to see if you can find a picture of a mullberry tree.
I have a huge Mullberry tree in my back yard. The horses love them!!! They even eat the leaves that they can reach. And as an added bonus, when the tree is in full berries, they all (full size and minis) get a cup full in their grain. They look so cute with their purple noses...Theresa
I remember the purple noses! HAHA. My neighbor used to let his full sized horse Cody eat the mulberries that fell on the ground. No such luck for me though, I have a fruitless mulberry tree in my yard!
I'm thinking it must be a Mulberry tree. I think there are "girl" ones with berries and "boy" ones that don't have berries (we had one in my parents' yard that never had berries).
Lisa of Ruff N Tuff had one when she lived her in CA and her daughter and horses ate the berries and were just fine.
thanks for all ur input. your right it is not really a tree.......itsw a bush/tree!lol
there is no berys on it yet I was just thinking ahead. They do taste good!(what every they are!) but I just was not sure if it was good for my litle guy!
