Ok it is true I have my first ever boyfriend at the ripe old age of almost 25! My question is he has not said anything about Valentines day and I don't want to sound despreate! We have been talking on Messenger and the phone for a month as of Tomarrow! So do i send him a e-card or wait to see if he sends me one?

By the way we have not met in person yet so am I jumping the gun a bit??

YEs your jumping the gun, more then a bit.

In this case I agree w/ Ashley. It's kinda an odd situation to be in, but I would just kinda hang on and wait, and see what develops with the whole V-day thing. It's a super touchy subject for most men, esp in the beginning of a new relationship. Cornering a man is Always a bad idea.

Good luck though, and good for you with your first boyfriend!

Yes, Valentines day is meant to be a special day between two people who have been together, in my eyes, for at least 6 months to a year...but by all means I would still text him tomorrow a simple "happy valentines day!" but nothing gushy or lovey dovey...let it ponder a while =)

I bet it's exciting to have your first boyfriend ever!! I too started dating my first "real" boyfriend (meaning longer than 3 weeks lol) and here we are 2 years later, Valentines day means a lot more to me now than it ever did =) Your time will come, just give him time and just a little recognition but nothing too major or he'll run off!

good luck!

Wish him a happy Valentine's day tomorrow. For gosh sakes this isn't 1950 and it's not like you are stalking him saying your madly in love and want to spend the rest of your life with him after only a month now is it?

:

Some guys actually like women who are not shrinking violets and always want the guy to be the one to say something nice. :flirt:

I don't think you are jumping the gun by just wishing him "Happy Valentines Day" while you are chating. I'm not sure about an e-card though...

I'm out of the loop on valentines day though. Once married, I found valentines day to mean nothing to us....so I haven't got a valentines day present/card in 11 years. We just celebrate our wedding anniversary.

I think it is a nice day to celebrate with someone you have a commitment with, especially if you are not married- buying gifts if you so desire. I'm not sure that talking on the phone/texting would actually be considered anykind of commitment yet though. I would definately say "Happy Valentines Day" to him.

Good luck!

I don't see what sending him a card would hurt??

heck I send cards out all the time and it don't mean anything really other than these people are special to me -- and there is no boyfriend here haven't had one in several years.

But really a CASUAL valentines day card is nothing more than a christmas card is it?

I'm in a similar situation...

I'm seeing a guy tomorrow night, we've gone out twice so far. Should I give him a card (more of a friendship variety) and maybe a little chocolate? Or just say Happy Valentine's Day?

I dont think you have to be in love with someone to send a Valentines card it can be a cute friendly card without being a love note. I do Valentines to most of my friends and family. Some are love cards others are just a chance to say you are special to me for many reasons. In the first situation I would just do a card that says Happy Valentines Day in the second something a little more special. i wouldnt think of NOT doing Valentines just like I wouldnt let Christmas go by without cards. Im with you Erica. Valentines just gives me another chance to say I care.

Thanks guys!

I have just never had a boyfriend before! This guy is reall sweet and I don't want to mess it up!

I left my dad a Valentines day card but he is my dad! And he works nights and left us three girls a pink heart shaped cake and a speicla bible verse about love!

I knew I was jumping the gun but I did not want to come across rude to him by not saying something! So tonight when we talk I will see what happens and mabey just mention happy valentiens day!!
