Hi Connie,

I'm not an expert, but maybe you could try a dab of stain spray (the stuff used for laundry stains)? I'd spray some in a saucer and then use a swab or something to apply it to the stain, testing first to be sure it doesn't take the fade the leather as well as the stain. If it's safe, keep rubbing in stain spray and then wiping it off until the stain is faded enough. Then wipe with a damp cloth, and maybe apply some Lexol.

Hopefully others will have better solutions!

I had the job of cleaning off reusable badges that people wore at conferences with their names on them. We used hair spray, of all things, to remove the ink from the plastic buttons. We did this over and over again with no ill effects. It really did break down the ink/marker and it came right off. Might be worth a try. On the other hand, it's not good to think what this stuff might actually be doing to our HAIR!!

Great thanks for the tips!!

Ugh, I use hair spray every day, I wonder what it is doing to my lungs?

yes' i've heard a lot that hairspray will work on inkstains even on cloths.

When I worked at the bank, we kept diaper wipes behind the counter. Diaper wipes would take ink off of the counters from the careless customers and I have used them to take ink off of some of my stuff.. Just try a small area first, not sure about leather..

For certain hairspray will remove ball point ink from clothes! My beloved used to keep testing me

Milk also takes ink out. I have used it on a silk scarf.

Test it in an unseen area first if you can to make sure the milk or hairspray does not damage the material your bag is made out of.

Rubbing alcohol takes it out of my microfiber couch. My kids have in the past had a field day with the ink pens, comes right out with the rubbing alcohol.

Just had a brain fart after reading the above posts..........

Baby Wipes with alcohol in them DOES remove hoof polish! But it works best if done right after the horse has been shown.....or if you've made a goof while applying it.

And a lot of people use Hair Spray to remove hoof polish at shows.......and it doesn't seem to matter how long the stuff has dried.

Well.....I tried hairspray and alcohol (for anyone who may be interested to know

) and it DID NOT work at all......hmmmm

Someone told me those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work on ink/marker. I have never tried it though....

l use WD40 on any and every stain always seems to work and won't damage anything if it doesn't...

Try soaking it in milk. Do not just rub milk on it. Full a bowl with milk and set the stained area in it.
