We dont normally have any cats except the resident strays that make there home here. Well we have about 4 of them, but only see one as she is the only friendly one. When she wandered in this past summer you could tell she was young, im guessing about 7 months or so. She still had the older kitten look.

Well we had a really cold snap last weekend and now she has the sniffles and sneezes. Is there anything we can give her to make her better?

She already lives in the hay barn and has a puppy heating pad to lay on to stay warm(even thou the hay barn is decent temp).

My vet always gave us a bit of antibiotics when we had these that had this. It had a name and I can't remember what it is (this thing the cats usually get) and they often have sores on their tongues as well if it is indeed that (it was an exotic name, wish Icould think of it).

I don't know what antibiotic it was, either, nor do I know the dosage so I would say the vet might be the best guess. We are lucky in that our local small animal vet pretty much gives away care to strays, etc., and he's so cheap anyway, that we are able to afford to take them in for just about every little problem.

I think what happens w/the colds is that they turn into upper respiratory infections and then they can linger and really pull them down.

So I guess I have no helpful information for you!

Chlamydophyla- Cat Flu. VERY contagious. Only to cats , though. If one has it rest will very likely catch it. They will need antibiotics in their food (I use Pilchards for this as it so strong tasting) You may lose some, it is quite virulent, but if they survive they will have some resistance to it. You can inoculate the one you can catch, once she is over it.

Chlamydophila (previously known as Chlamydia)

This is a special kind of bacteria that can cause eye infections in cats. Affected cats may also suffer from mild flu like illness. Several weeks worth of antibiotics are required to treat this infection. A vaccine is also available against chlamydophila.

She is on some cat antibiotics. Not sure what its call, but its pink and looks/smells like pepto.

I do give her that, and man does she have nails when she dont like something.

Ashley,

Upper resperatory infections are very common for kitties. Some are more prone to getting them than others. The only thing that our vet gives us is an antibiotic (which is what it sound like you are giving her) and if the cat's eyes get runny, an eye ointment as well.

My kitty has allergies and even though she gets shots to keep her from being itchy and such, she still has sniffles and congestion really bad. My vet told me a drop of saline nose drops in each nostril twice a day would help clear that up. Just a suggestion to maybe help your kitty feel a bit better.
