Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:

"Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."

Very good! Why do you suppose people are given these two wolves to deal with? And are these feelings developed or are people born with them? So much is needed to understand why people are the way they are and why not all people are not all alike. Why do some people feel guilt and others not? Why are some angry over what happens to them in life while others seem to just make lemonade out of their lemons? Why do some feel so hopeless while others are full of hope? Why are some people peaceful and some not? Are compassion, empathy, kindness, generosity learned traits are are everyone born with these traits? So much to think about and so much to be learned if there is ever going to be peace in the world for all. Just pondering. Mary
