Adoptions are going quite well. That's a good thing because sorry to report, we have many more horses now in our care. Shannon and Marty had to build a new spread sheet for their data base because of the large amount of horses in CMHR custody went through the roof. We have quite a few happy horses ready to leave their foster homes and waiting to be adopted. Our website is being updated at this time so all horses are not up there yet but if you are interested in seeing what we have, do by all means contact us.
Gini is in heaven with running the auction on LB. She's always got her hand out. As the treasurer, Gini is money hungry all the time so please take a look and make a bid.
Unfortunately, some new horses recently came to us not through the usual way by owner-surrender. It's a long story, it always is in this kind of case, but the fact is that this latest group of terribly sad horses is now in the custody of CMHR. They have been grossly neglected. Every horse is in unbearable pain for one reason or another and are all being medicated at this time. Some may be foundering. Their foster mother is well versed with the knowledge of how to attempt to stabilize a foundering horse and she's on it with everything she has. One horse however, might have a rotating coffin bone she fears is penetrating the sole of the foot. All will have farrier and complete medical attention immediately. They are covered in urine soaked hair coats. They smell so bad its sickening to the human stomach. There is something wrong with the eyes of two of the horses. They have snotty noses and the tails are stuck together in one solid mat of urine and manure.
Please continue to contact any Board of Director at Chances if you are willing to adopt or become a foster parent. If you have an empty stall, an empty corner in your field that needs to be filled with a smiling little face, consider adopting a horse from CMHR. Again, please take a look at the LB Auction that is presently being conducted and BID. We are desperately needing funds to continue to keep our barn doors open for those little ones in need.
Thank You
