I'll get this out REALLY quick. I don't like co-owning anything but she's a really good friend.
Anyways, I bought a filly (that I just adore!) from someone on here, and while we were there I asked if they had anything for cheap. They did, my friend didn't have her checkbook so I went ahead and paid the full amount because I like the mare a lot other than one conformation flaw, she said she would pay me the other half later. Well the next morning I trimmed her feet, wormed, AND vaccinated her. Then took her home, with my other filly.
Well she was talking and said the foals we'll spilt the cost of what we would sell them for. I said ok at first. While I was doing fence I was thinking, how is it that I own the stallion (ringo) who really will make the foal worth what I will want for it, and half of her(then pay for all of her upkeep), how is it fair that we are going to 50/50 the foal if we decide not to keep it.
Not even saying the vet bills that are going to come with that, which me, I basically get free vet calls now, but I still have to pay for his trip out to the house.
The mare wasn't expensive at all, but I'm very picky how they'll be taken care of. I just don't like knowing I'm the one that's getting screwed.
