color question

is listed on his papers as black...However he has some brown on his face, around the muzzle and his eye....In some other breeds this would be listed as a black bay or brown...Wish I could show a picture but digital has taken leave of its picture taking abilities...So, can anyone suggest what color he might be?

When I send in his pictures with his registration will the registry correct it?

He may just be "sun bleached", sort of like when people's hair lightens in the summer.

What color are his parents? Any chance that he could be smokey black and have one cream dilute gene; smokey blacks sometimes have that brownish cast to them.

Sunbleaching, like already mentioned is also quite possible.

His mom is a silver bay and I'm not sure what color dad is...I don't know how to transfer from my pictures to photobucket or something that I can show you a picture of him...darn!!! sucks to be puter illiterate...LOL

He almost looks to be smokey black or dark liver color with a bald face and blue eye...

I don't know if I can adequately discribe how to post pictures, but since you already have them on photobucket you're half-way there. You can either use the picture link icon (the little tree above the text box when you post) and enter the photobucket link info or I just use the picture link codes, start with and after you enter the picture link information you close with [ / i m g ] (without the spaces). Hope this makes sense and helps.

THe horse appears to be buckskin, if that's the case; then your colt could very well be smokey black.
