JUST WONDERING. LIKE FOR FRANKIE'S (CAROLYN) PRINTS. OR ANY HORSE THAT HAS CONGESTION. WOULD A VAPORIZOR HELP ANY WITH THE VICKS STUFF IN IT? I KNOW YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL AND BE THERE WHEN IT WAS ON BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN WHERE IT COULD BE USED.

YOU USE IT WITH YOUR KIDS ALL THE TIME SO WONDERING IF IT WOULD WORK WITH HORSES. ANYBODY EVER TRIED? DID IT HELP?

sandy

you are dead on target! my gf had a filly with pnemonia. when she brought her home they had to set up a stall in the basment with a vaporizer. she had to be in a climate controlled environment with the vaporizer on

OK, somebody might have been feeding me a line of bull, but I ran into this gal here near me. It turns out she had bought the mother of my mare and we started visiting. She claims that when Boone's Little Buckeroo was born, he was actually sickly and she helped Lowell put him in a big dog crate and I am pretty sure she said they used a vaporizer with him. Again, this may be a story, but she is from here (IL.) and she does own horses from the Boone's stock and knew a lot of other info so it may be correct...if so...we all know how that turned out

Sandy there is such a thing on the market for horses someplace.

It fits sorta like a muzzle and then you put the medicine in it. It is used largely for horses with heaves and congestion and problems like pneumonia.

Yep, my vet used one on a mare I had at his place (sicky) many years ago. Like

Marty says, it looked like a muzzle and the contraption was hooked to a hanging vaporizer.

You could rig a canopy in the stall to allow the vapors to stay within the general area of the horse. The muzzle device would be best for a REALLY congested one.
