In my experience, several of the claims for this cart on its website could stand to be verified, to put it mildly.
I can say that I could now NEVER advise dealing with the designer/seller of the "Scotsman" miniature cart directly to purchase one new. Also, it is my personal conclusion, after much research and a bitter personal experience, that carts with most similar features as the "Scotsman" in fact has can be obtained, several at closely-competative prices[priced NEW], that are much better finished, have a much better quality 'look' about them, and have a better, longer 'builder reputation' behind them.
Also, most now-available miniature carts with comparable features(such as steel wheels w/ solid rubber insert 'tires';'serious' suspensions like torsion bar, air-filled, semi-elliptical springs, etc.; mostly-metal, EE or close-to-EE construction, and often with 'gooseneck' type and/or adjustable shafts, for example), are in the neighborhood of 105-115 lbs. The advertised weight of the basic "Scotman" miniature horse cart is CONSIDERABLY LESS that that, but, in my experience, that was NOT the case, and the weight came up into that same '105-115 lb.' range(with the only departure from 'standard' construction being a seat/cushion that was 4" 'deeper'(front-to-back)that the then-standard seat of 12". This option added no more than 3-5 lbs. to the overall weight of the cart,however-so would hardly account for a weight that is @ 40% above what is claimed!)
I agree that if you are buying used, and IF YOU ARE OK WITH EVERYTHING about the cart as it sits before you, you might be satisfied with it. I would not recommend paying any sort of premium price, however...JMHO. Just take it for what it is, and not necessarily for what its website CLAIMS it to be.
