Hi-
I thought I would update everyone on Daisys vet visit today.
:aktion033:
: The vet feels she can be rehabilitated
: :aktion033:
Although he is a little guarded as her feet are in absalutely horrible shape  and her being obesse  and heavy in foal  is not helping anything. But the Dr. gave the go ahead to have farrier work started slowly :aktion033:
He figures we are talking baring any complications many months before she will be able to venture around without pain. Farrier visits will have to be very frequent slow and steady. She will have to remain on thick bedding and a strict ( Dr. Recommended and supervised) diet as well as pain medication for quite sometime.
She also has some sight issues which are also playing on her trust issues and not being handled but rarely. She has a heavy worm load which has to be handled carefully. We didn't get to her teeth today as she had had enough.
She will need good thoughts and prayers- and vet visits and farrier visits.
I would also like to share a little bit about her personality.
She is guarded but very brave- she has yet to balk at what we have asked of her even though she is in horrible pain and scared. She has not been enclosed in a stall in quite awhile but she does not fight to get out and push us over even though I know she really wants to go out side( we leave the outside door open by her stall so she can get fresh air and sun. She is very curious and tries to trust even though it is against her instincts, and I think that will be her saving grace. She also has alot of siprit as my vet found out when we all got a good toss against the stall wall  but she forgave us right away :bgrin She also really likes men
: she knows a mans voice and wants to be with them :bgrin She also has manners so someone some where did spend time with her, she also can set up ( I didn't ask her- she just does)
So there you have it- thats her update for today.
I will update again later on.
Tiffany
P.S.- She is probably do around September 14- to foal.
