I'm asking for prayers, white light, strength and healing for a little baby named Aubrey. She was hospitalized yesterday for what the Doctors thought was a severe virus that was causing her O2 levels to drop. She was coughing so hard that she could not hold anything down.

Aubrey's Mom is part of my August 2001 kids group on AOL. I have known Angie since January of 2000. Aubrey's Daddy is with her while she is being transported to Omaha by ambulance. She could not be taken by life flight because of severe weather. The Doctors have found that Aubrey's heart is enlarged and they fear that an artery has been damaged. She has been given only a 50% chance of survival.

Angie and Lonnie have 2 older children. They have also lost a child to stillbirth. The oldest daughter is Mia's age. Their son is autistic and Angie has been trying to be with them while Lonnie stays with Aubrey.

Please dear Lord, hold this family in your heart and hands.....

What a rough time those poor parents have had! Will definitely hold them all up in prayer.

I saw on the national news that there is a new outbreak now of Whooping cough, could it be something like that? Keeping my hope in my heart.

Saying prayers and keeping good thoughts for this family. May the good Lord hold them in His hands.

Thank you all so much. I will keep you updated as soon as I hear anything new. I know they expected the ambulance ride to be at least a few hours if not more, due to the weather, but they had to take the chance on transporting her.

I can't even imagine what Lonnie is going through on the ride with that baby and what Angie is going through, waiting at home.... Angie would have found someone to be with the other 2 kids, but the ambulance crew could only allow 1 parent along...

Prayers said and kept coming. The poor little sweetie and her family. Bless them

This was posted on the board a few minutes ago.

Aubrey has made it to the hospital. Angie and Lonnie are both with her. Angie's kids are with her mom (yes...her mom). Aubrey is sedated and paralyzed on machines to breathe and to keep her heart beating. The dr's have determined that her coronary artery is not connected to where it's supposed to be. Angie told Tiff that the dr's have told her they've never seen a heart as weak as Aubrey's

They were doing an echo on her and there were a bunch of specialists there when Tiff was talking to Angie. They'll be doing open heart surgery tonight. I guess she's at a special pediatric cardiac center/hospital of some sort. That's about all I know now...I hope I got it all and didn't miss anything. TIff should be getting home soon and can probably fill in the gaps I left out.

Posted just a little while ago-

Aubrey will be going in for surgery tomorrow between 11:30 and 2:30 instead of today. They are going to fix the damage to her heart--congestive heart failure.... and that part of her heart is damaged, and she won't ever be running any marathons. Lonnie said that they told them "IF" she makes it through the surgery, then the prognosis is good, but that the damage that has been done might make her have problems in the future. They even told them that a heart transplant might be an option some day.

Talking to Angie... these are her exact words:

Her heart is very sick. A third of them get better, a third stay the same, and a third get worse. The bottom of her heart by her left ventricle has not been getting blood from the coronary artery and is very very very damaged.

I asked her how they didn't know, and they told her she is lucky that she made it this far. The surgeon cancelled another baby's surgery to come and check her out because she's much worse. She started crying again because she started telling me about the pictures they just took of her the other day show her smiling.

Basically the bottom part of her heart was dying. If it hadn't been for the respitory problems she was having, they would not have found this until was too late

. Angie is killing me guys. She's telling me that she's afraid she's just not going to come out of this and that she (Angie) won't make it.

They have central arteriall lines running to her heart through her groin area.

Thanks Laura for the updates. My heart is just breaking for that family. I have lit a candle and will pray more often and keep a candle going until she is out of the woods.

That poor little one - my prayers are with Aubrey and her family!
