I had a weird day. I have been sick for a couple of weeks. I started feeling better the first of last week. Well, I had plans to work on the barn today, I would really like to get it finished sometime in the next year or so and only have Sundays to work on it.

I went out to the farm this morning, fed the babies and emptied the limbs out of the trailer, loaded the lumber from the old barn on the trailer and pulled it up behind the barn. I unloaded part of it and all of a sudden, it was like I hit a wall. I had no energy left at all and felt really bad. I made it back to the car and home. I walked in the door, went directly in and laid down. I slept 4 hours! I went back out to take care of the horses this evening and played with the girls for a few minutes and I again felt like I was going to pass out.

I didn't get anything done that I wanted to do today. I guess I wasn't as well as I thought I was. I am so disappointed that I didn't get anything done and really didn't get to spend any time with the horses. I usually spend at least one whole day a week playing with them and working on the barn.

I have to go back to work tomorrow so it will be another week with nothing getting done on the barn.

Actually, yes before I was diagnosed with diabetes I felt exactly like that on several occasions. I had always been able to do extremely intense physical labor all my life until that. Just like you said like hitting a wall-- complete exhaustion. Have you had a check up lately? Always a good idea to have an exam especially if it happens to you again as it may be more than just a virus hanging on.

i have felt like like often after sickness. It could be your are not taking enough foods with energy in them, Carbohydrates are important they are our short term energy storage. You could have droped in these levles when you were sick. I'm not a doctor and i'm no where close even to being old enough to have possibly gone though the schooling to become one, we just learned this in Bio class and it may be your problem. I suggest going to your doctor if it keeps up.

Mary it's because you just thought you were all better when in fact you are still sick!

Getting sick just takes a lot out of some of us and we don't bounce back like we used to when we were 16 years old. I've had the flu bug lingering on here going on now for my 4th week and I'm just about now back to where I should be. Take it easy Mary and don't push yourself. Rest up this week and then see how you feel next week. I'll bet you'll be 100% better.

I too think you started doing too much after an illness. That is unless you have something stupid like fibro, then you could have days like that all the time.
