I would like to come up with a new farm name. Currently Im using Blue Moon Miniatures, but I realized that others have that name for their farms.

Note: I do not breed or sell horses, the minis are just a little hobby of mine but I would like to call the herd something incase I ever start to show.

So, does anyone know if any one is currently using the name Snowy River Miniatures. I came up with name a few mothes ago and living in NY, we do get snow and there is a creek that runs thru the woods behind our property. Thanks in advance.

Dan

hey

i came across this farm with the name

http://www.freewebs.com/snowyriverstud/

you can check with amha and amhr to see if anyone has paid for the name prefix or not.

we paid a high price to have our farm prefix where no one else can use our farm prefix.

amha we have paint by numbers

amhr we have paint by numbers and PBN

we wanted PBN with amha but someone else had something close to it so they wouldn't let us have it, they refund our money on PBN

we were looking for a shorter prefix so we could have more name for the foal.

good luck.

Your best bet is to CALL the registry on Monday and ask them. If the simple spelling of "Blue Moon Miniatures" is already taken, and I suspect that it is........Ask them about other spellings and variations........ ie, Blu Moon Minis.........or Snow River, Snowie River Minis......etc........ Try some different ideas.

Once you hit on a name that is NOT taken, give them your debit or credit card number and RESERVE IT NOW! (Just my recommendation.)

Thanks guys, Ill see what I can do.

Something I probably should have menscioned earlier: my horses are unregistered, and I have no interest in becoeming a business and no need to, I just want to be able to call myself something, so do you think I could call my self Snowy River Minis??? I would like something with snow in it like Snowy Mountain Miniatures or something along those lines. Any more suggestions would be appreciated.

Why don't you incorpatrate you name into it??

When I made a website for my 2 geldings, I needed something to call it, and De's miniatures came to mind. My last name is DeWolff, and its sounds like when someone uses it as a weird for of the: "and these are de miniatures"

I do know that someone in canada also uses the name Snowy River Miniatures

Make a list of all the possibilities and think on it. I remember doing exactly what you're doing.

Ok Dan, I totally don't mean to steal your tread, but in choosing a name this comes to mind for me, and I was hoping I could get this answered.

I show my 2 geldings at 2-3 santioned shows, and 2-4 local shows, so could I have a farm name? What do you think you need to have to have a farm name; must you be a breeder??? I would have a farm name for my guys, but I think other may think its stupid as I'm not a breeder and only have 2 horses.

If your horses are not registered and do not plan to breed than it does not matter if someone already uses the name for AMHA or AMHR, you can call your farm whatever you want. You cannot use a prefix for a name for a registered horse that is already in use, but since yours are not registered than you are free to use whatever you like.

Thanks everyone.

Margot, thanks for the input, I think Ill stick with Blue Moon Miniatures then, and then in the future when I do start breeding and showing and selling, than Ill change it to something different.

Thanks again.

Dan

There's a lady in langley BC that uses SnowyRiver Farms.

And she has her farm split into two. SnowyRiver Miniatures and SnowyRiver Paints and Quarter Horses. For general its SnowyRiver Farms.
