Oh I'm having such a black cloud spring so far.

Twoie...won't go into details 'cus I bet most of you know but basically...$6000+ vet bill, mare who can't be bred ever again, and lost foal ( but I still have Twoie ..that's a BIG YAHOOOOOOO)

Drew my 17 year old...

Crashed his 450cc dirt bike and somehow through a helmet broke his front tooth in half. More money.

Complained of a sore wrist after going mudding with some buds....took him to the doctors....only to find it's been BROKEN for TWO years !!!! Yup, two years, there's one bone in the wrist that doesn't heal well because of the low blood supply...so which bone did he break..yup THAT one !!! Now facing upcoming surgery, pins, and a 10 week cast...with specialists to move a blood supply to that bone and an orthopedic surgeon...MORE MONEY !!!!

Last monday he had what looked like a pimple on his leg. Tuesday...looked like a spider bite. Wednesday...looked horrible...had a huge swollen area and his leg was turning red. Took him to the doctors only to find he has a STAFF. infection. Yup staff. Got him on meds. Oh, forgot to mention the doctor had lanced, drained it and packed it with sterile material which he had to remove (pull out ) one inch at a time over a 4 day peroid GROSS!!!!!!!

My 13 year old came down hard at polevault practice at track today and sprained his ankle.

My Dad, who has been in cancer remission for two years is going downhill so fast I'd be truely amazed if he lasts through May. I saw him this weekend and he was looking so poorly. SO sad.

Oh and today I found a lump on my ****ie ! I'm 99% sure it's a cyst...but one more thing !!!!!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHH>

PLEASE will someone else share their woes with me so we can all have a good belly laugh at the loads we all sometimes have to carry.

PS. Not looking for sympathy..just looking to join in a line of others carrying large loads at the moment

After reading your post, my "large loads" don't seem nearly as big. Sure hope things start improving for you really soon. Keep your chin up.........the only way things can go is UP.

Would that be Keinbock's? His Lunate bone? That's what happened to me but it was too late to try a graft and fix it, so my wrist is permanently fused. It's a pretty rare problem, so it's good that you've got specialists on the case! There's a Keinbock's group on yahoogroups that has a ton of information and support about it.

That and I just broke 2 front teeth hitting myself in the face with a sledgehammer - so now do you feel better?

Oh my, you ARE carrying more than your fair share of the load. I'm with Donna...after reading about your troubles, mine don't seem so bad. Have you tried using bubble wrap for the kids?
default_wink.png
: I'm so sorry to hear of your father, too. And I've read some of your postings on Twoie. I can relate to the horse troubles...have had quite a few of my own that have added up. My vet clinic just keeps my credit card on file and the mystery bill comes only once a month to reveal the amounts.

My mantra for this year has been "one day at a time". I just can't think ahead and can't keep reminding myself of what has been.

(In a meeting at work today, we all got a really good belly laugh watching a Hallmark e-card. If you go to their website--www.hallmark.com--and click on e-cards, then Favorite Characters, and select Banshee. The tax one is pretty funny as is the date one. It just sums up how I've felt some days!

: )

Keep the faith.

my heart goes out to you... 2005 was a year that it seemed nothing went right... i never thought i would survive it, but here i am halfway through 2007... will keep you in our prayers, and your son for good recovery from all his problems, and your dad that he doesn't suffer needlessly.

Oh Danna..........and I thought *I* was under stress....... :new_shocked:

You sound like you and your family need a nice big protective BUBBLE to live in for awhile!

Blessings,

MA

You need a hug! Sending a nice light bubble to keep you safe.

Will check on which bone it is thanks for the info. Hubby went to the doctors with him ( I was at track with the other) and he just rolled his eyes when the doctor said " Of all the bones to break...."
default_rolleyes.gif
:

Okay, now I know I'm in good company....HOW on earth did you hit yourself in the face with a sledgehammer!!!!! I hardly dare ask

Bubble wrap for the kids HAHAHAH Now why didn't I think of that earlier LOL
default_rolleyes.gif
:

Thanks for the "bubbles" thoughts, prayers, am passing them on to the others in this line (a sledgehammer...LOL...now THAT's a good one !!!! YOUCH !!!!!!!

Oh I forgot.....

3 weeks ago...Andrew was at the movies in Bend with two friends. When he came out someone had hit and run his car...now by hit and run I mean completely smashed in the door and part of the side panel. Of course they didn't stop. He reported it to the theatre, called the mall security, called the cops and made a report..BUT the surveilance cameras were down for repair and no one saw it. Of course we couldn't claim on insurance...not on a 17 year old boy !!!!!! So there was another $2700 to fix that

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH

Good job I have a good sense of humor LOL

Holly hannah Danna :new_shocked: , how much can one person take? I am so sorry to hear everything that is going on in your life at the moment. We found out last week that my aunt who lives in Phoenix, her cancer is also back with a vengeance and she is down to 80lbs soaking wet, my daughter's boyfriend's mother was diagnosed with lung cancer a month ago (the woman is 51) and has never smoked a day in her life! She collapsed last week and they rushed by ambulance to the hospital only to be told she has a matter of days now  , my mother is not doing so great lately, the medication she is on has her face swelling for some reason, I need to call her doctor, one of my barn cats who disappeared for a few days came home with a broken tail, Shari got cast in her stall last night, the darn ducks won't stop laying eggs, lol, they are laying them ALL OVER THE PLACE and Makayla is upset because I keep taking the eggs away, she wants "some chickies"
default_wacko.png
: like I need more ducks (hope that made you laugh :bgrin ). Oh and Danna, Crystal is getting bigger :bgrin , another month perhaps....
default_yes.gif
: shhhhhhhh

Ducks...we "rescued" a tiny baby duck last year. She'd fallen down a hole too deep to get out of and her momma eventually had to leave her. I heard her chirping and fished her out. That silly duck thought we were mommas. Got to the point where we had to carry buckets of water round with us when we were outside because no matter where we went that duck would follow. We put down the bucket filled with water and she'd hop into it and happily swin in circles at our sides....so cute. She left us one day, we sure miss her
default_rolleyes.gif
: Tell Makayla I'm on her side HAHAHAHAHAHA
default_wink.png
: Hey give your ALL horses hugs from me
default_wink.png
: and ((((BIG HUGS)))) for all your family members facing cancer and illness.

You guys have cheered me up, amazing how someone "shaking your mouse" (sorry - got two computer nerd kids and "mom, can you shake my mouse" is a common phrase around here" LOL). Can change your outlook.

Hey...the broken car...got fixed.

Twoie...she's HERE yahoooooooooo

Matt's ankle will heal

Drew's wrist...we have a great surgeon picked out.

My Dad...hey we were blessed with two wonderful years that we really shouldn't have had.

...and my lump...(99.99999% sure it's my cyst) but hey if I can grow it enough I'll finally have those 38D's instead of 34 longs HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA) (old lady joke) :new_shocked:

...still figuring out the sledgehammer LOL

Now that is a load. I'd help you carry it if I could. {{{HUGS}}}

You have a positive outlook about it, and that will give you the strength you need to get past this. As I was told once, "Look beyond the situation to the desired outcome, and live for that outcome."
