A couple of weeks ago I heard what I thought was a sonic boom. But it reverberated for several seconds, which wasn't like a sonic boom. Found out later it was an earthquake. I didn't feel anything, but my neighbor said her windows rattled and she felt it. Not sure what conditions are present for a quake to be heard.

My mother heard one a few years ago; she said it sounded like a big semi driving down her alley.

There is no drilling closer than 50 miles to us and we set upon solid granite.

Our son lives in the heart of the earthquake activity in OK. They have had over 200 since January 1. But he said the quakes are fewer since the price of oil went down.

I always thought Oklahoma was known for "Tornado Alley". I have never experienced an earthquake and don't want to. Scary. So is a tornado. We get a few tornados. Mostly a little flooding. That is all.
