Hi to all:
I owe you guys pics but my sons lost the download cord to my cheap digital camera!
Our new Modern Shetland is just WONDERFUL! Ben and I could not be more pleased - she has the "fire" I was looking for but she is certainly manageable and is such a sweetie! I usually spend a few extra minutes grooming her and itching those spots she cannot reach and she makes wonderful faces when I reach the "good spots"!
Our farrier was out to trim her last weekend and she said she will make a lovely Modern Pleasure mare (which was our hope to begin with) and since she knows the sire our mare was bred to, she said we should expect a very nice baby with a great temperament and possibly some more chrome. As long as he or she arrives healthy and happy, I don't care!
She was very good for the farrier and also good for the veterinarian, who came out to check her this week and to make sure she was healthy... which she is... she is in good weight and the veterinarian liked her conformation.
Our other mares have included her in the herd now, including Mercy! While Mercy is not lining up for a grooming session just yet, she has stopped chasing the pony.
As my older son's friend shared her original call name, at our farm she is now known as "Intrepid", which she responds to and whinnies to when I call her.
