I'm so sorry for your loss Lyn, and I will keep Fancy and you in my prayers, hope that she makes a complete recovery!

I applaud your decision to allow the foal to be used as a learning tool, what a valuable resource for the future and improved care for many horses!

May I add the photo to my foal development pages? Do you have any measurements on the foal?

Yes you can use her picture. She was about 19 inches tall I didnt measure anything else... She was very beautiful to me even tho she didnt live. Very refined and lovely.

God bless her little soul.

Lyn,

I'm so sorry for the loss of this precious little one.

I'm also sorry that the miniature equine world has lost another chance to see a winner.

Fancy is proving to be a fighter...let her know we're all thinking of her.

So very sorry to read about Fancy losing her foal. She had a lovely filly, and I'm glad you didn't have to make the decision to abort.

No flames here on allowing her baby to be used as educational tool - it is one of the only ways the vets can learn. I've let UCD take one to study - I'm not trying to be cruel, but if it will further their education, I'm all for it.

You and Fancy will stay in our prayers.

Lyn, I am so sorry for your loss. I pray Fancy will be well soon.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.... if I could only find something she would love to eat. She picks at her hay, only takes a couple bites of grain and then dumps it out.... she is better vital signs wise but still very depressed and not wanting to eat..... Yesterday she was brighter in the afternoon maybe she just isnt a morning person. She is on 17 pills in the morning, 3 at noon and 17 pills in the evening! In addition she is getting yogurt twice a day and metamucil..... Keep praying for her.... she has a long way to go.

When one of my kids is down in the dumps I make an applesauce treat. Apples sliced very tiny, some cheerios, some grain (just a bit), lots of warm applesauce and I hold it for them while they eat telling them mummy knows how bad it is and loves em terrible much. They seem soothed by the love and treat. I hope it helps some. A have also sprinkled in a bit of jello chrystals if they like a particular flavor.

Lyn,

I am so sorry for the loss that and heartbreak that you are suffering with the loss of Fancy's foal. I will continue to keep Fancy in my prayers that she perks up and gets well soon. I just saw on Bill's thread that you said she isn't doing well, I'm hoping for you that she turns the corner soon.
