If you could only eat one dish for a whole year.......what would you choose????? And it doesnt have to be fancy!!

I would happily live on bread, butter and marmalade!!!

My son Daniel would (and almost does now lol) live on pasta, pesto and grated cheese.

So come on,....tell us yours.

:aktion033: Baked potatos,or pasta. but I'v never met a potato that I didn't like.

Hoomemade soup and crusty hot rolls and real butter!!

I might have to say the Asian chicken salad from our local restaurant, T.Paul's Urban Cafe....it is SOOOO good. We buy the dressing and put it on salads at home. Yummmm. And pretty healthy, too, minus the "noodles" (those fried crunchy things).

If it could be low carb (and it can't, at least not and taste good to me), I'd pick this magarita pizza that you can or could get at Bertucci (sp?). It's really good... but then so is their BBQ chicken pizza...

Right now, my food obsession are these low carb cheesecake muffins I am making and eating all the time...

Wonderful homemade creamy soups, like potatoe leek or mushroom and warm french baguette with unsalted butter smeared all over it.......... I am drooling just thinking about it!!!!!!

But I could list abotu ten more things too!!

Oh Shane, you made me thing of the chipper, I love chips from the chipper in Ireland. On a cold night chips and sausage oh just perfect!!!!!!!

I am getting hungry!!

: But to only eat ONE thing all week? :new_shocked: Well, my latest kick is Mexican rice, it's made with rice and layered with cheese, sour cream ( or in my case - no fat yogurt ) salsa and a tomato mixture. Just made it the other night and ate the whole dish up my self with in two days. Yup, think I'll make it again REAL SOON!

Anything with PASTA AND/OR CHEESE !!!

MA

Well, I had to reallllly think about it and narrow it down to one. My favorite supper is Elk Tenderloin, Baby Red Potatoes roasted in olive oil with garlic and rosemary, steamed asparagus, and a really crusty bread dipped in herbed olive oil. Maybe a spinach salad on the side, with fresh cukes and hard boiled eggs. And to drink, either a glass of wine or a big glass of really cold milk. For dessert, berries over chocolate cake, drizzled with melted chocolate. And another glass of milk.

: For me, that would be a PERFECT meal.

Yes I also would choose homemade soups if I could choose a category. I have found several yummy ones that I have been making often this winter (trying to get a few pounds off of us both) - chicken tortilla soup, hot sour soup, cabbage beef soup & italian pesto soup - all served with moist yummy mexican corn bread.................. If I had to choose one food it would be ranch taco chicken salad. Since that is made with a cup of mayonnaise though I would have to use my treadmill every day!

With my baby-queasy tummy, almost nothing sounds good...so why am I hungry all of thetime?~LOL

I can't honestly think of anything that sounds yuumy right now except some home made soup I made a few weeks ago with lots of fresh veggies & leftover pork roast. It was SO good. Mia and I both gots cups of the broth after chores in the cold weather

Shane,

We do have chips/fries over here btu not like the ones at home, don't get me wrong they are good here just different!!

I make potatoe and leek soup and yes you can get delicious soup here.

Everyday my mother used to make a cream base soup for us and when we came home from school she would serve it up at the kitchen counter, as a snack! It was the BEST!!!!!!!!!

Whenever, I go home or when she visits she makes it and it is just SOOOOOOOOO good!!!!

Also as a busy Mum myself now it is such a treat to have a large bowl of warm soup and crusty bread handed to you......... only a Mum knows how to spoil you like that!!

The food here is excellent but it is different, we do not have brown bread like we do at home, which I love!!

The dairy is very different here too.

My favorite thing was on Saturdays I would go to the local country market where all the local farmers wives would be and we would get the best bread and homemade butter, it had a different flavor and soured quickly but it was delicious!!!!!!!!!

But even with all that wonderful homemade healthy food, the chipper still holds a special place in my favorite food.......not really gourmet but just so good!!!!!!!!!!

I am getting homesick now....I was talking to my aunt in Co.Wicklow yesterday and she was talking all about family/friends and I got all emotional.... I better plan another trip!!........for after mare stare

Sorry this is way :eek:fftopic:
