Have just found out the horse I part loan is leaving in two months. I'll not have a horse to ride anymore and I've fallen in love with the beast

It means I have more time for my littles cause they do get left more to do the big fella but there's something special about big ones I can't go long without a fix. I love my little ones and cant wait for summer with them but I will miss riding so much.

Have you thought about looking into purchasing your own at some stage? maybe rescuing one ? Id miss having biggies too

You will be very busy with a foal soon enough

Ive had big ones all my life really, but got into the minis. I have no space now, and no money to have my own, which is why a share was ideal. Ill just have to go back to riding schools or look for another share. I just love this big man, its breaking my heart

Im sorry that you are losing your horse, shared leases are difficult. I bet that if you put feelers out there, you will find another horse who needs a rider, not a new owner. In my experience, once I stop looking for something it usually turns up...so hang in there.

I get very nervous riding, so when im confident on one horse going to another puts me right back to sq one. This is the fourth horse i've lost the use of in a year, people just cant keep their horses. im tired getting used to them then having a few fun days and having the horse ripped away

i can't do it anymore.

I am sad for you. I used to get nervous riding, too. It is hard to form a trusting bond, have it broken and have to start all over again. I am sorry that you are loosing your trusted mount.

That's also how I feel about riding. I'm a timid and nervous rider and I find it difficult to ride lesson horses. Some barns have so many and once I get used to a certain horse I get put on another one or the one I like is sold.

When I was a kid, I ended up with several broodmares who were either bred for the following year or waiting to be bred in the spring. I would have a nice horse to ride for the winter and then in the spring, they would leave. I was lucky, I loved the mama mares, but it was so hard when they left.

But at least I could go see them. Rocklone's post brought back all those bittersweet memories.

I have another horse lined up if he goes. Its a lesson horse, so i could only ride maybe twice a month, but its something. Hopefully mine will stay a bit longer...
