This is the 3rd buckskin filly (and 4th buckskin foal) by Khornerstone KpM and out of our cremello mare Cat Ballou... and she may be the best filly of the 3! Very sweet and personable, very strong, even 3 weeks early and born during a hail storm!

Introducing "Khitten On The Keys KpM" - more photos when she unfolds!

She was a little slow looking for the faucets, so we gave her a bottle (and saved some of the colostrum to freeze!) For some strange reason she only wanted to nurse with her nose straight up in the air!)

Awww love the biggie foals also :aktion033: and yep those are some fancy boots. :bgrin :bgrin

Really pretty filly, would be happy to have that one in my barn! Have been trying to persuade my daughter to breed her APHA mare to an Arab, but she's hung up on big tall thoroughbreds lol.

Karen i'm so glad you posted, believe it or not but I turned your barncam on Saturday night and was watching you napping in the stall with Cat all wrapped up lol I was like ooohhh come on Cat, have the baby have the baby!!

Then it figured I turn off the cam for a few hours...turn it back on the next morning and sure enough, there's a dark little buckskin bundle of joy!!!

I MISSED IT!!!! crap!

She is ADORABLE! Congratulations!!! I watched a little later in the evening too, from 4pm-6pm my time and she finally crashed out at 6pm lol it was so cute!

Ohh shes beautiful! A big congrats! :aktion033:

Somehow I knew I wouldn't get away with those paisley rain boots with y'all! First day all winter where I even NEEDED rain boots!

I also just noticed the strange way I'm holding Khitten's head - it's 'cause my left wrist&arm has a big metal bar in it and doesn't bend, so the only way I could "cradle" her neck to keep her nose from banging on the wall was with my elbow. It's been 2 years since surgey and I'm still not "used" to not having a wrist anymore (and I'm still not happy about it, either!)

This filly I'm sure is going to be as versatile as her full sisters and brother - one is a Sport Horse In Hand and regular Halter Champion - the other is currently being trained for Western and hunter under saddle, while the brother is waiting his turn under saddle (just turned 2)... but a park horse trainer asked me to send him into training! :bgrin

Here are Khitten's full siblings as yearlings:

I think Khitten will be more of a "smokey" buckskin than any of them, she has primitive shading already on her croup, neck and withers! I still keep hoping for a palomino filly out of this cross (Khornerstone does have a chestnut gene) but I certainly can't complain about what they've been doing so far! :bgrin

Actually - that was me, Brenda, in the stall. Cat is such a sweetie she made it way too easy for me to nap. I was waiting all last week because I "knew" there was no way Cat was going to wait until March...well, you guessed it, I missed it too!

I did get to meet Khitten within 45 minutes of birth so I guess I'll survive. :bgrin
