Our cart has not been used for a couple of years thus the tires have no air in them & are flat (sitting on concrete).

I feel this is not good for the tires. Lee says it should not hurt them.....Opinions?

I started using a cart that has sat for a few years and the tires were flat. We put air in them (very carefully) and watched that they did not get over filled and have been using it with no problem.

Hope this helps. It is a jerald if that helps too.

Likely it will be ok. I think the sunlight is the worst enemy of rubber tires.

As long as there's not a lot of weight sitting on the tires, like additional things stacked on the cart, I would think they will inflate and work just fine as long as the reason they went flat wasn't b/c they were popped or otherwise compromised.

Actually, it isn't the best thing for tires to sit for LONG periods of time on the same 'spot'(on the tire), flat or not. However, if they're out of the sun/weather,sitting on a dry surface, bearing little weight, and were in good shape to start with, it shouldn't be TOO big of a problem. I have a full-sized EE pipe cart, which I almost NEVER have used-I go out, lift it up one side at a time, rotate the tires about 1/4 turn, every so often--easy!

I have a bicycle that would do that and I could never get it to hold air for very long. So I decided to take the advice of the forum and buy NO FLAT tubes, a tad expensive but I like the piece of mind they give. I put them on my carts too. Just an idea.

I just spent $50 on getting mine fixed last year and have only drove a couple of times and they will NOT hold air... I will have to have new tubes AGAIN!!! Do they not make soild rubber tires????? I think I would try those out instead of having to worry about the dang tires going flat all the time!

frekles93 thats what NOMOREFLATS are. Solid rubber they will NEVER go flat.

The solid rubber tires for the carts are they not to heavy for the minis to pull? I have them for my wheelchair and love them very much but it makes my chair so much harder for me to lift. But for the peace of mind it give I would like to buy them for my cart if they are not to heavy for my A size mini.

One thing to check when your tires wont stay up...check the tube's valve stem...there is a small wrench that you can get called a "valve stem tool" fits right into the valve stem (where you would put the air nozzle) and you can turn it to tighten the piece inside the stem that keeps the air in.

Also...after they have been sitting and you go to reinflate them...please check the tire to see that the bead of the tire...(inside edge of a tire...feels like it has a wire inside....). The bead or lip of the tire needs to be inside the edge of the wheel rim. This is the part you wrestle with when changing a tire...struggle to get the tire on the rim all the way. I recently went to inflate a cart that had set long time...and noticed the edge of the tire was coming out of the rim. Easy to fix..while tube is deflated...push it back in. Inspect the inside of the wheel and outside as well...then inflate slowly...watch to see it doesnt pop out again...should look even all the way around.

GREAT!!! Where do you get them at?? Would a Bicycle shop have them? That is what I will be getting cause I HATE to go out and have flats!
