Florida trip

Deb and I just got back from our trip to Florida late last night...had an amazing time! We stayed with our friends that live in Venice and went to the beach 4 times (once just to hear a drum circle, which was fun and interesting), went driving around the area to scope out places to live, went out to dinner with other friends that live close by amd went to Busch Gardens one day. It was a busy, busy trip! I felt bad that we couldn't check out some forum people's farms on this trip, but time just got away from us!

We will definitely be moving in September...will most likely be living in the Sarasota/Bradenton area, but we also checked out Parrish, Arcadia, and a few other areas.

"MAY" have news on a certain property, but will have to wait and see if it goes thru...so no info on it yet...<fingers and toes crossed, tho!>

It sounds like you two had a wonderful, fun filled, exhausting vacation. I hope the property offer works out for you so you have a definite place to move to in September. Considering you will be hauling your whole family with you it would sure be great to get there and be able to all settle in right away.

Glad you had a good time. I have clients who live on Casey Key - it's beautiful.

Did you find any place in particular that appealed? Maybe next trip you'll get a chance to visit. If you were in Parrish, you were probably 5 minutes from me.

Good luck finding what you want. I have a friend looking to move to Parrish now and she has found a foreclosure on 10 acres for $189,900. What a steal.

When we move down there, you will just have to come visit and we'll go to the beach!

We passed a farm right on a highway (can't remember now which one) that had a Mini trailer sitting out front and a barn off to the side that had some green Mini panels, but didn't see any horses (or people) around, so we didn't stop...maybe it was your house?? lol

We did find a place for rent (which is what we are wanting to do right now)...but we'll see if we get it...still waiting...

Now you've gone and made me homesick. But I just gotta keep remembering one reason we moved here was to get the horses and myself out of that heat and humidity.

You stayed in my home town. My boys were practically born on Venice Beach. Learned to swim and scuba there from babies. But gotta tell you where you screwed up: You went to South Lido Key instead of North Lido Key.......North Lido is where the nude beach is !!!!!!!

LOL Marty! I saw way more skin there than I ever have in one spot in Oregon...so nude beaches aren't necessary...

We went to Venice Beach on our last day there...nice beach, but a little eroded, so there was a dip down to the water. We also went to Nokomis Beach and Siesta Key (loved the sand there!)

Ya know, you could always come down and visit!

Duckie will be coming home around 1st of July. Then we will be driving, driving, driving to get her used to us and our hands and us use to her. Drove her and she is great. Can't wait to get her home now and put some miles on the little lady. I'm planning on getting some driving done here at home this weekend with Jimmy and Ariel. In the new housing development by our house. Can have all kinds of fun over there right now very few houses have sold and theres even a porta-potty set up still.

I however, know what you are looking for so we will dig it out from the back of the pile and try to get it to you this weekend. I sure hope it works for you.

I'm heading down to Sarasota this coming Monday. But, I'm probably only going to be able to appreciate Florida this time though from inside the hotel... I fly in Monday, reception at the Ritz that night and then meetings there Tuesday. Flying home late afternoon on Tuesday -- I'm already tired!!! The company tried to tell me it's a great "long weekend" trip, but I am too much in love with home to do it that way, even on their dime!

Glad you had a good trip and are home safe!

Wow! How bizarre that I saw your house just driving down the road...LOL! We actually drove by it a few times (I wanted to see if really had Minis or not and then to see if anyone was home)...probaly would have stopped if we'd seen a car or someone there...oh well...at least I know where ya live now to come visit after I move...LOL
