Some of you have posted some really beautiful pictures of your gardens/flowers. I've just got to show this Clematis off a bit. First one I've ever had and I think it's gorgeous. I counted 40 blooms on it and it's only about 4' tall.

Here are a couple Columbine in the garden. First time I've ever had those too.

Ohhhh pretty!!! I have 2 Clematis, usually only one flower at a time though, they are second year. We are so hot and dry here, I can really only grow drought tolerant plants. Just WISH I could grow Columbine. Miss them from growing up in CT.

Oh what beautiful flowers!!! Your Clematis and Columbine are the same colors as mine are!! (Is your fav color purple?

) My Clematis is not in full bloom yet tho...but the Columbine is.

I wonder if this is a year for exceptional Columbine?

Ours are going crazy, too. Huge plants just laden with flowers.

We've got a pure white one, the traditional pink, a pretty blue and

a deep dark purple.

Your clematis is so lush, too.

My son just brought two new Clematis plants for Mom's Day that we

will start on the wedding arbor we are building for his wedding in 60 days.

They have a white smallish star shaped petal. Not seen this particular plant before.

This afternoon I saw, at the store, a double blossom Clematis in dark dark blue.

May have to go back for that one if I don't find something I like better, tomorrow, at my

niece's horticulture sale.

Thanks for all the nice comments; they're appreciated. Many many years ago my step dad (who was more like a father to me) had a couple clematis that he really liked. I've found that since I've moved back to Missouri I've planted a lot of flowers that are part of my memories....like the clematis. Mom had a lot of zinnias at one time so I have them, and when I was really young my dad and step-mom had holly hocks. Got all of 'em around here now as well as some iris and spirea which I always liked to combine into arrangements....then, of course, there are the lilacs which I always loved. Dogwood was always pretty special too but, darn it, don't have but one on this whole 20 acres and it's where I can't get to it.

Donna, They are so beautiful. I just love Clematis.

Thanks so much for sharing.
