Foal #1 for Green Creek ....

Finally...foal #1 is here.

As of 9pm tonight, Angel foaled a gorgeous appaloosa COLT sired by Fishers Cisco Kid. Angel is a mare i purchased from a dispersal here in Ohio.

Dam is On The Rise Farm Silver Angel, a 33" silver dapple A/R mare, out of a Egyptian King Daughter who is out of a Rowdy daughter and Angel's sire is double Buckeroo bred (how is that for a pedigree?? Buckeroo - Rowdy - Egyptian King). Sire is Fishers Cisco Kid (HOF), a 29.5" blue roan blanketed appaloosa sired by Fishers Master Mickey.

Text book foaling..she foaled at 345 days. He has a lot of spots, he was out of the bag, dried off and up in no time nursing..even tossed a kick or two at momma. Angel is going to have her hands full with him for sure. Passed everything well...could not have asked for a easier foaling or a better mom. He is real necky and curious, real leggy and a beautiful head / eye on him.

I took photos really quick..came inside to upload them but they came out way to dark / fuzzy so will have to wait until in the morning when the light is out.

I went back down to the barn after uploading photos (which...all are dark and fuzzy) to check on him and he had managed to escape...i was out this evening and got home just as she was foaling, and she had gone out for the day...i had short notice so dad put the horses in and he had put her in one of the show horses stalls instead of the foaling stall ... well the stall door sits up off the ground about a foot and he had managed to get under that..found him about half way to the roundpen which is out in the lot connected to the barn! He managed to find his way threw the barn door that was open all of maybe 2 feet .... but carried him back in (Angel is a pretty easy going mare and was not really stressed over his little escape..but was glad to have her boy back). Set a bale of hay infront of the door to block the opening...so we should be good for now until dad can fix that or get horses moved back to their correct stalls.

Oh and he has a name now...

Escapada of GCF .... (escapada is spanish for escape)

Congrats!!! Kinda hard to see, but you can see the spots on him!!! I bet he is a real handsome guy and definitely has bravery. He's gonna be a lot of fun I bet.

I used to own a stallion by Fisher's Cisco Kid up until last year. I don't know why I had it in my head that he had passed away. Obviously not, if he's still siring foals!! Is he in Ohio?

He is up there in age, but he has not passed away as far as i know..he was sold as part of the dispersal last June but not sure who or where exactly he ended up..

:wub, here are some photos from this morning...he is a lot darker then the photos show..would love any color help. Sire is a blue roan appy..dam is a silver dapple. He is sure going to stick out here with all those spots...
