My new little mini, has a green, FOUL-smelling discharge coming from the one side of his nose, called the vet and he is coming on Monday, but he said it sounded like a sinus infection. He is coming of 2 next month and he don't think it would be his teeth. But I have noticed he is a slow eater and I do hear slurping sounds when he eats and drinks. Just got him so don't know his habits yet. Could the slurping noise be because he is all stuffed up? Started him on antibiotics

: today. Has any one else experienced these syptoms before? Could my other mini get this nasal discharge too? I am really worried. Thank you for your feedback!!!

Check the teeth!!!! This horse could very easily have an infected tooth!!! Know of TWO horses that had this same problem and that is what it ended up being!

I think Laurie made a good call........and also with your description. Yes, the sinuses may be affected, but it may stem from the teeth!

if its a new horse i would be sure its not strangles before i would give an antiobiotic. giving that can make it last longer. The slurping sound is it like a gurgle??

No, like a kid slurping his food around in his mouth to annoy his mom! I don't know what strangles is. Could someone give me a desciption? Thank you for your responses, I noticed tonight at feeding time, a little of the food fell out of his mouth when he was eating. So maybe it is his teeth.
