I have a about 37" AMHR Mare I want to show she's a 9 year old do I need to uses and kind of Body Sweats & Wraps for this mare as I thin her neck is a little chunky looking to me or what to you think I should do to get this mare ready to show.

My other thing is how in the world can you get them to lounge as I have tryed pretty much ever thing to get them to lounge as my 4 year old stud just looks at me like i'm not going any where same with my 13.2hh mare and this mare and a paint mare as i'm in a wheel chair.

Here's a pics of the mare I'm geting ready to show for next year. sorry about the pics its hard to get good pics of her as her head is always down.

I dont think she needs any weight of her neck but i think she needs some muscle toned..

have you got a electric wheel chair maybe you could take her for a walk or can you get some one to help you.

she is a very nice looking mare and i wish you all the best of luck.

No i'm in a a reguler wheel chair but I think we are going to use a lawn more and walk her be hind it up and down the drive way. And thank she is a BEAUTIFUL mare she a grandeaughter to Lazy N Red Boy and a Great Grandeaughter to Rowdy and shes related to Orion Light Vant Huttenest too so shes breed really nice to.

To get her ready to show I'd get her clipped really well. Give her a good length of bridle path and fix up the mane so it looks neat. Keep her out of the sun too so her coat won't be burned up.

I'd steer clear of sweats. She doesn't need them. Her heck is fine. She does need to be toned but PLEASE do not walk her behind or anywhere near a lawn mower. That is extremely dangerous stuff and a thousand things can go wrong. If you can't find another way to give her a bit of exercise, then don't bother with it. It would be better not to do anything than to risk injury to her or you.

This is a very pretty mare and I wish you lots of luck and hope you will do very well. She looks like she is your very treaured friend. Good luck.

If you have a golf cart, she can jog along side while you drive.

To lunge her would be difficult I think. For example, while going counter clockwise you would need to hold the lunge line in your left hand and the whip in your right. Consequently you would not be able to move your wheelchair as needed to either pivot or stay opposite her. Do you have a round pen? That would free up one hand and you might be able to keep her moving more easily.

If she's in a run, you might put low poles in it for her to trot over in her daily moving about.

Good luck!

ok thanks I'm thinking of doing free loungeing on her so she dont get hurt so thanks for all the advices any thing else i need to do to get ready for next year AMHR shows.
