Very disappointed. Today was the first day I put the cart on and it got to the end of the driveway and just snapped (one of the tug d rings on the saddle gave way)

Totally gutted. I had literally just sat in the cart and was asking him to go forward. Glad he is ok.bseller being good though and sending s replacement

Not sure which harness you bought but that is disappointing for sure. Be very careful--there is at least one harness that was being sold on eBay and elsewhere--multiple people reported that piece after piece would snap that way. They would fix or replace one part and then next use another would break. Hopefully yours is overall a good harness and this was a one off thing.

Never mind--I just saw your other post, about the harness being there, with the photo. That's not the harness that people were having trouble with on a routine basis. Hopefully you are good to go!

Bummer about the harness. Glad the seller is working with you though. Hopefully it was just a fluke and you won't have any further problems. Glad no one was hurt in the process

D ring broke, so we assume it must have been weak. I'm not a fan of the material of it, its odd. I prefer something a bit more sturdy. I know that no weight should be on them but realistically there will be when i get in or out (i was getting out when it snapped)

I'm worried the cart is just too big for him too, making there be weight on him. The seat is level but still..

From your photo in the other topic, the cart looks fine for him. Perhaps you are sensing that he is working a little hard. My new one feels the same; I believe it is just a question of building muscle and stamina. I believe they also need to learn how to use their body with a load. That is where we come in, teaching them how to do that. I have a lot more to learn about that, but I know more than I did teaching my very first horse!

Yeah i maybe do need to learn. I am awful for being unconfident and im always unconfident in the cart because i'm terrified of it tipping. I probably lean forward too much because of that! Im getting there with my 32" mare, im relaxed in that now but still never lean back lol

I was told by a trainer never to rest against the back. Balance is on the buttocks. Should wiggle toes to make sure feet are not tense. Weight should be on the axle of the cart. Leaning forward puts pressure on the saddle.

Similar to riding, I think; one should be balanced centrally.

I try to work on this. That's one reason I probably could not do a 5-10 cart drive. I could not stay "collected" that long.

I still have my first driving horse (avatar). Poor thing, we had to learn a lot together. It certainly made a bond between us, though!

I think you look super in your photo! You look confident and competent.

With Goldie i am, cause we have learned and got there. My littl gelding has never had a harness to fit, so while he is broke he is very green and never had a passenger before this incident. Yeah i do balance on my but, i don't like to lean back at all! Its hard to se what im doing unless someone takes a photo
