Well, 2 days ago a young man came to my door. He asked me if I would tend to his rabbit for $20 a month while he was gone. He is going into the Army and needed someone to take care of her. His grandparents would be traveling and couldn't take care of his bunny. He had asked someone else and they wanted $50 a month to take care of 1 little rabbit. This young man is joining the Army and now leaves in 6 days. At first when he was asking me I am thinking (I really do not want another rabbit. I can't wait for our old ones to die). We had 4 rabbits left then we ended up with our little wild rabbit. Then it was like a switch flipped on in my head. "You big dummy, this kid is putting his life on the line for me. I think I can take care of 1 more little rabbit". I did say yes I would take the bunny. I went today and picked up the rabbit that is a sweety. I told him that when he gets back if he wants his rabbit back he could have her or I would just keep her until she died. She is 2 years old. He kept insisting that he was going to send me $20 each month for taking care of the rabbit. I was sitting there with the rabbit on my lap and I told him I would not take the money. His grandmother was very shocked when I said No. I explained "He has chosen to put his life on the line to keep us free. I think I can pay him back by helping him with his rabbit". So, now Flash is now actually in my stall(in her hutch) and will get moved to a more permanent place where she will have shade in the hot of the day.
