Finally after days and nights of attempting to pick up her back feet and having her snatch them away (since January)... I picked both of Enterprise's hind feet successfully and she was not on a leadline or any restraint. Granted, those feet were muddy and yucky but oh it was worth it!!!

She was standing next to Mercy and I was working on Weatherly's feet and called over to Enterprise, "Hey E, watch how we do this!"

I looked up to find Enterprise actually watching her buddy getting her feet picked up and worked on. I walked over to Enterprise and Mercy and was going to pick Mercy's feet first but she shook her head no at me and trotted off. I went for Enterprise's back feet and she picked each up like a lady and she let me work on them! :aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033:

Then I did the front hooves... :cheeky-smiley-006: :cheeky-smiley-006: :488: :488: :new_multi: :new_multi: :risa8: :risa8:

Weatherly is 13.3 hands and will be a year next week. Enterprise is 12.2 hands and both she and Nefertiti will be a year on May 21st.

I can break out my clippers for Mercy next week to prepare for our first service visit on the 28th....hope this :cold: :cold: :new_let_it_all_out: :new_let_it_all_out: snow ends soon!

Ben's audition today did not go as well as he had hoped - he is limited in his TV experience (one teaser, one Animal Planet show and one Stars of Tomorrow show) and has lots of theater experience which this guy did not like. As I am typing this, my Siamese cat is growling in the drop ceiling....

I said it is disappointing but who knows what will be offered next week! He did enjoy his classes, looked good (to the tune of a visit to the mall and I HATE (did I say really HATE?!) going to the mall?!) Ben also said some kids in his class really got shredded by this "casting agent" and he felt fortunate that he did not. Oh well.... :bgrin

More updates...

Hoof picking continues to go well...we practice daily.

Weatherly decided she would go for a swim in the pond last Friday night - she is a water horse! I had her on a longe line and was letting her explore when she leaped in the pond and swam for a minute before jumping out and shaking like a dog. Tonight on our walk she did not swim but was playing and splashing at the edge. She now stands 14.0 hands - a big baby!

Nefertiti has been practicing her "park" - and she does it well... just wonder what she will be like away from home...she and Enterprise turn 1 on May 21st.

Enterprise is the best mannered little girl - she is standing quietly for me and posing in halter stance.

Mercy was clipped last weekend for an event we do tomorrow... the hosts want her to attend a black tie dinner later in the season as the guests "will bid crazy for animal created artwork" and we have donated several framed and matted pieces in honor of Liberty, who we adopted from this agency before she passed away.

Freedom and Indy are waiting their turn to get clipped...just need the weather to turn a bit warmer and less damp.

Hope everyone out there is well...
