Now they have the AMHR horses!! I was playing on it today (wanted to see the color of one of my stallion's dam) and there it was- a link for the AMHR horses, too!! TOO COOL!!

So naturally I looked up the horses I bred. It was disappointing to see how many weren't transferred over... but there we some that had changed hands again, one boy had been gelded, it was very interesting!

Now to start loading pix on that one!

I love the owner look up section. Was very suprised at the amount of horses that never were tranfered out of my name as well.

The AMHR section does have some kinks still in it though as, at least for me, it list the horses twice and the whole website (A and R) is slow. I don't have dial up but it still takes forever.

I think it's a great tool and that it is free makes it even better, I'm sure with time all the bugs will get worked out and what an outstanding tool it will be.

Here is the link if you haven't been there before

I just love the new program and once all the bugs are worked out in both AMHA and ASPC/AMHR program it will be the best tool we have ever had..

And isn't nice to go to one place and have access to BOTH REGISTRIES :aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033: No more this one is better than that one on any of our pedigree lookups and such..  I just love it..

Do give them time to get it all together , because they will , but remember they are trying to set up two complete Assoc. at one time,, so this might take just a little time.. :bgrin

What exactly is this for and do you have to pay to look up stuff?

This is the new program that AMHR /ASPC and AMHA have bought to take care of all our Registration, stud books , shows, and anything I guess you could say that deals with the working of the Assoc's..

No, at this time it does NOT cost the members any added fees to use the stud books ... I am not sure if they will leave it as a free access or not, but for now it is free..

Ok, this may be a stupid question, but I only show 19 horses listed there... I am obviously not getting something somewhere..

What you are seeing are the horses that have photos listed. The top three, Baby's Got Pizzaz, Cowboy Cool and Budweiser Blackout (dang redneck is showing again, that's my favorite name from last year. :bgrin ) were/are mine.

At the top of the horses there is a search bar and a drop down menu. You can search by horses name, owner, sire & dam. Fill in what your wanting to search for and go.

**whoops sorry Laurie you figured it out but I already posted**

Yes, where you go to sign in, there is a little link to register. I can't believe all the horses that have not been transfered either. They will send you an email with your password- I got mine immediately and voila, there ya go.

Grrrrrrr, yes, i've found that you do need to register to get in.

I filled out all of the info and it says that your user-Id will be your email addy. After I finish it says that email is already being used, hmmmmm. So they send me a user-id and password which are numbers, the same as each other, weird!!!!

I can't get in the site to check out horses.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

Leslie

Does anyone know how to edit my profile? When I signed up, I put my married name instead of my hyphinated name, which all my horses are registered under,

thanks

ALicia

Oh, I have tried many time, and have been unsuccessful.

don't think it is totally up to date a horse we put in our name and we have her papers back since dec is still in the old owners name and her colt registered in feb we have his papers is not on there yet

Not only did it tell me that, too, but it somehow put my husband's name!??!?!?

Oh and when I went in to my profile there to see if I could change the name, it filled in stuff (adress and phone) that I didn't, so I guess it matches the adress with the one on file for AMHA. Still don't get why hubby's name is there though, I didn't think we're both in AMHA together? I know all the horses are under my name only...

Ok I think I"m getting frustrated... I FINALLY figured out how to find my horses, they're listed under my maiden name (even though I"ve changed it through AMHA). I can't search AMHR horses, maybe I need to rereg with a different email as AMHR?

And how do I edit info, such as adding pics? I don't know if it will let me since it thinks I"m my husband? I'm very confused

Jessi

Edit: I figured out how to put a picture in, but it told me it has a problem adding it

I had registered awhile back to pull up AMHR horses (and have the AMHA log in), but it wasn't (isn't) showing me "My Horses" that are AMHR. I can look them up, and they are listed to me, but don't show in my own status. I just re-registered. I think I didn't put the punctuation in my name (S. Jill O'Roark) the first time... I know that flying comma throws a wrench into a lot of data bases so I usually leave it out, but maybe that made it unable to match my horses to my name? We'll see!

Looks like a good tool that needs to be made better....For instance, there is no entry in the DNA column for my mares that are DNA'd and have been for quite some time. Both are permanent, everything up-to-date and has always been kept up-to-date, but still no information there.

I found that you need to click on the registration logo over on the right hand side of the home page, THEN enter your sign-in info...

understand that not everything is working and in place yet for AMHR/ASPC site, but we have to understand that this is a MAJOR job putting all this info onto another program

: Also , you have heard the phrase ""Garbage in ><< Garbage Out>><<> well that is some of what they have been dealing with and having to sort thru the Garbage , a computer only has in it what Humans feed it !!!! So over the course of years and years I guess from what I am understanding the information fed to the computers has not always been correct ,  Oh how can that be ?? LOL!! One example I know is Redboy's name was typed in 8 different ways !! So it showed up 8 times with some sort of spelling differences all 8 times..

So guess what I am saying is this is a work in Progress ! We will have to bare with them and then it will be very useable in the future. .

Ok I must be really dumb, I don't get how you all are finding this AMHR section??

On the Left hand side there are several little round logo's and down toward the bottom is the ASPC/AMHR logo ,just click on that and there it is , YOU must have a different sign in ID and password ,, than what you use for AMHA

Thanks!!

Ok so I joined with a new username, now how do i find my horses? They aren't under "my horses" ?? Are we supposed to search for them and put them in as our horses ourselves or ? lol

I do like this, it's really neat!

No , you will not have to do that , when they get all the info fed into the program , they will come up, at this time it is not finished and will not do that , but it will just like AMHA is doing now..
